This review is written by a septuagenarian. The booking process was completed online via the Premier Inn App; Check-in and Payment. No problems encountered.|Friendly, efficient and informative welcome at Reception. The human touch!|Room well appointed - quiet, even with the window open. And this is the end of September in Central Scotland. Actually a family room with a connecting door but still quiet except for a single ‘bang’ as if something was being emptied outside on the Monday morning. Around 07:00h. Didn’t really bother me - I was already emerging from the Land of Nod and I just ignored it.|Lovely bathroom. I opted for a bath both mornings; easy to control water temperature. Easy to turn on and turn off tap with wet hands and a quick-filling bath. And the mirror didn’t steam up. Wash hand basin water temperature seemed impossible to control. Cold or scaldingly hot with nothing in between! Bath fine, as described.|Comfy bed and the spare single bed (unmade) served as a chaise longue for me - the single occupant.|Very small breakfast room with a breakfast bar facility. Accommodated the clientele adequately whilst I was there. The inn may serve lorry drivers and the like. I sat at a table both mornings and enjoyed my standard breakfast (which obviates the need for lunch) of sausage, bacon, eggs and mushrooms. I must point out that fried eggs were not available when I ate breakfast on the the morning of my departure - Tuesday. An oversight? The scrambled eggs were fine! Other wholesome breakfast food is available and the drinks machine served up a tasty Americano coffee with milk on the Monday morning. Well - two coffees actually! With a ‘pain au chocolat’. Yummy! Both mornings!|Complimentary tea/coffee with UHT available in the room with more available at Reception. No biscuits! The healthier option!|Freeview TV but not programmed to the latest channels. Channel 81 (Rewind TV) unavailable and guests capable of retuning the TV are viewed as incompetent and the option of retuning is rendered unavailable to guests. I understand why but dilatory staff or dilatory “organisation”?|Pleasing violet night light along the top of the headboard and on the morning of departure I noticed something on the shelf by the side of the bed. An obvious outline of where my bedtime reading had sat. Conclusion? Whoever was supposed to be dusting wasn’t! I’m a widower and I don’t dust a lot so I was amused. Other clients might not be so forgiving.|In summary? I enjoyed this stay at Premier Inn_Larbert immensely but prices vary so ridiculously I decided to stay only two nights. I would like to stay longer in the future since my relatives live in Glenbervie Drive. But who likes to be ripped off? Even if one can afford it! Think of the dust...
Read moreStaff were superb at welcoming us for our stay. The check in was quick with no problems. The public free carpark is the size of 2 football pitches and will easily take any size car, van or larger vehicle like a motorhome if so required. But be aware the surface is very rough and some potholes which can make it tricky for wheelchair users. The main Disabled parking bays approx 4 by the front door were always full of works vans when we needed to park all with no blue badges? The other disabled bays were across from the front door approx 150 feet away across very poor and potholed road surface and in the rain meant being very wet when I eventually negotiated the terrain. The lift at this hotel will only take one wheelchair and luggage but was very clean and fast. The rooms are a little tired and ready for a refurb and it could also do with power sockets for both sides of the bed. This would mean not having to use an extension power cord to run my CPAP machine at night. Also the thermostat wasn't the best I've come across on my travels. Be warned have a shave before a shower as the extraction fan only works when you flush the toilet and so the bathroom is like a steam room when you've done, everything is dripping! There is no air conditioning but a fan is provided. The main room window open 6 inches. The Breakfast was taken within the hotel in its own dining room. Buffet style with good hot dishes available and the staff were fantastic with the service. Good choices of drinks hot or cold. Great location for easy access to the motorway but far enough not to hear it. The photos were of the Dining room which...
Read moreMy partner, her son and his partner went to this 'fine' establishment fo a meal. Now, if anyone knows anything about food poisoning, they will know the incubation period is roughly about a day and a half to two days. My partner got food poisoning just shy of 48 hours later. I contacted the parent company. I expressed, as per the options given on their web site that I wished to be contacted via email. I did not select by phone. The following day, I was rang up by the manageress of the establishment, who then proceeded to talk AT me and mentioned norovirus was rife. Now, if she had ANY sort of clue about norovirus, she would have known it is indiscriminate and does not pick just the odd person here and there... it has closed down entire wings of HOSPITALS, never mind a single entity in a PUB! Funny, all four of us chose different meals... only one fell ill. Orchard Group are a disgrace. I've heard stories since from people that have worked there and they are all horror stories regarding the kitchen. Guess who will not be back there. Ever. I was sent a complaint form to fill in. I mailed Orchard group, requesting that they never contact me ever again and told them they need to rethink kitchen, staff and head office if they want to remain a viable business. I shall forward a copy of this to Orchard group, since I also told them I would give them a review on all sites...
