I have used premier inn a number of times and was really satisfied with the services generally. However, my experience at Premier Inn Grimsby hotel (just a night) was somewhat uneventful for the following reasons: While checking in around passed 8:00pm on Saturday, 15/10/22, we had a nasty reception. The receptionist, a male, acted very strangely and unwelcoming and we were totally disappointed. In fact he was so unprofessional with his ugly behaviour towards us as though we were criminals who just came for a hideout in the hotel. The room we were signed into was different from what it should have been/ what I saw/do see online. I booked a double room. Normally, a double room should have a double bed and a cushion chair bed (like an equivalent of a single bed) by the wall. There was nothing like that in the room we were assigned to; just the bed. I went to the reception to complain and the same male receptionist told me in a hurry that, "in this hotel, that is how our double rooms are". I could see how he was practically struggling to give me a listening ear. That was another phase of disappointment I got from him and due to his attitude, I felt he was not being honest with his hasty explanation. When we were checking out at passed 11:00am the next day, Sunday 16/10/22, there were other receptionists who were really pleasant with their customers and exchanged warm pleasantries with us. Only this male receptionist was staring at us as if we were ghosts. We seriously felt he had demonstrated all these for want of racial dichotomy. Also, he might need to get some more customer service trainings to be a more competent receptionist otherwise, he shouldn't be a receptionist. Recommendation: Upgrade from fan...

Not much at all apart from checking-out. Tired old Travelodge with a purple wash to try and bring the standard up is poor planning at best; appalling decision making at it's worst.
"What could we have done better"
Family room 2nd bed is unsuitable for children. My 12 year old woke up in pain at 0200 and I had to carefully place every towel in the room on top of his excuse-of-a-mattress to try and stop the hard wires digging into his back. Staff were rude, unpolite, uninterested and unhelpful. Arrived at 1400. New system of trying to extract an extra tenner (Ryan air style) £10 to check in prior to 1500. I have stayed in hotels all over the world when working abroad and reception always check to see if your room has been cleaned. If it has, they are always happy to allow an early check in to assist a weary traveller. Making me go next door to a dirty, poorly run pub for an hour OR pay a tenner is highway robbery and you should be ashamed of such a blatantly opportunist, capitalist change. Again, very poor decision. This hotel (stretching the term hotel), sits in the middle of an industrial estate. Not even a slight exaggeration. Surrounded by industrial units and a busy road. This motel/hostel/hotel is for shopfitters and other overnight workers. The air quality is shocking. The hotel grounds & surroundings are tired, very poorly managed (if at all) and a shameful excuse. Car park is covered with holes and is inaccessible for wheelchairs and a risk to walk across. Worst franchise award is the award I would...
Read moreWe stayed here from 2/12/2021 to 5/12/2021. On arrival, we received a warm welcome from Beth. She was friendly, very helpful & gave us all the information needed for our stay. We were offered extra pillows if needed & were also informed if we needed anything else just to ask. Once we had settled in we went back to reception to ask for directions to the nearest supermarket. Beth gave us the directions & also informed us of the restaurant next to the hotel for food options. We decided to book the meal deal which was dinner & breakfast the next morning. The room was very clean, the bed was super comfy & the room was at a comfortable temperature. Beth made our stay at the hotel extremely pleasant. She is a credit to the hotel & Premier Inn. We had the pleasure of also meeting the hotel manager/area manager who was also lovely. The hotel are running a raffle to raise funds for GOSH ( Great Ormond Street Hospital ) We decided to give it a go as it was for an amazing cause. We won a few prizes, which was lovely. Beth congratulated us on our prizes. So the next day my husband decided to ask how many tickets were left in the bucket. Beth & the hotel manager were a little shocked we had asked. But they proceeded to count the tickets for us. We bought the rest as it is a great cause & donated the gifts we had won. My husband was asked if he minded having his picture taken by the manager as he had been so generous. All in all, i would highly...
