Glorified leisure centre, this is not a “luxury spa”. The facilities look great, brilliant views, and it was clean enough, these are the only good point. While I was there, there were almost 50 people in the facilities of the “spa” meaning everything was full and you would just have to wait in the pool until something had a space. They had vastly over booked. One employee who kept coming into the “spa” area was extremely unkept and scruffy, their uniform did not fit them and was covered in muck. He also thought it was a great time to start scrubbing a random bit of grout in the middle of the room which killed the atmosphere and caused the most annoying noise. The photo attached also shows what the above staff member was using and had left in the men’s changing room. An old tub of mayonnaise to wash the floor! In a place that charged £65 per person for two hours?! And he left power tools and cleaning items there, dangerous. Can they not do cleaning and maintenance before it opens to paying customers? There was also no staff members monitoring the facility meaning when “adults” were jumping around, splashing and screaming in the “relaxation area” they carried on. Some other “adults” also seemed to be practicing for the Olympics with how they were trying to lane swim in a pool that is less than a meter deep. There is also hardly any seating in the area, an no loungers. They have 4 double seats in total and 2 group sitting areas. No where to put your towel and robe so everyone is leaving their stuff all over the slippy floor. I think the website is vastly misleading and needs to be corrected. This was incredibly overpriced. We left 30 minutes early in our 2 hour stay due to the noise and disappointment. I will be contacting the venue to request a refund. I would never recommend this place and I will not be returning.

The views! Oh. My. God. The views. Hypnotic, watching the patterns made by the tide coming in & out. Stunning. The accommodation is superb: very spacious, modern, comfortable and well equipped. The 2 patios, complete with hot tub, were outstanding. We practically lived there. There were just 2 of us but this lodge takes 6 easily. The new club house absolutely maximises the view. Very impressive. Roomy and very modern, it's not cosy or especially comfortable (the old club house was more homely) but it is impressively slick in a chrome-and-glass way. The pool area, even without the view, is outstanding - the outlook makes it unique. Literally the smartest pool, gym, steam room and sauna I've ever used. Iconic. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant (not open Mon-Tues) are overpriced by 50-100% and the bar has a limited range of beers - clearly not CAMRA members! As a result, we used it only twice (one with a ÂŁ30 voucher). Never found more than a handful of people there - wonder why? Fortunately the village is only a 5 minute walk and has several places to eat and drink at normal prices - saw lots of our 'neighbours' doing just that. You can also have takeaway delivered. Having first gone 25 years ago, this was always a good resort with a unique outlook and Dylan Thomas connections. It has moved seriously up-market and would be hard to beat.

Just returned from a 4 night stay in a Sonnet 3 lodge with family, this is a place that I have always wanted to stay and it did not disappoint. The lodge was extremely clean and well equipped with great bedrooms, kitchen and lounge are. The lodge had everything you need for a relaxing and easy stay. Car parking next to the lodge which was vital for our stay as one person has mobility problems. I will say that I would definitely stay at the bottom end of the park again as the hills can be steep, although you can always phone to be picked up and taken to the restaurant etc, but I do like to walk and find my way around the park. The restaurant was very well designed and the food there was excellent, all brought to us by fantastic staff who clearly knew the menu and were ready for any questions regarding it. The spa area and pool were probably the best that I have ever seen in other parks that I have been to. From the changing rooms to the pool and sauna area everything is stunning and gives a very upmarket feel. I will definitely recommend a stay here and will be back myself at a later date as everything including the staff everywhere were very good.

Myself and my partner stayed at Ferry Hills 67 from 10th-14th June. We had looked forward to a nice getaway and some time off work and this was such a disappointment. Let’s start with the good. The onsite spa and pools are great, we loved using them. The area was clean and well maintained and the views from the pools were lovely. The restaurant and bar terrace were also nice, we ate dinner there one evening and the food was good. Our waiter was friendly and very personnable. The concierge service is a nice touch as the resort is relatively big. The driver was always friendly and helpful. The views of the Taf Estuary from our lodge were stunning!

Now for the bad
on the day we arrived at our lodge, we walked in and could tell it wasn’t cleaned properly or in fact at all. There was a dead fly squished against the living room wall, cobwebs and spiders in almost every room (living room, downstairs bedroom, downstairs bathroom, upstairs bedroom & bathroom). There was quite literally spiders in the shower and on the ceilings. We resulted in getting the hoover out to get rid of them all and counted 8! I have a massive phobia of spiders and felt so uncomfortable, arriving somewhere on your first day to find this level of cleanliness was shocking. We have stayed in several lodges in different parts of the country and have never experienced this. The lodge hadn’t been well maintained, there were water stain marks on some of the ceilings and part of the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom was peeling away. Prior to arrival its standard practise for the lodge to be thoroughly cleaned for the next guests who arrive and I can honestly not see how this was cleaned. There was a card in the living room for someone to fill in once they’d cleaned and inspected the lodge, it even had a box for the date it had been done. The whole card was blank
I sent a message to the number who’d texted after our initial arrival to highlight the issues. The following morning we got a call in the lodge, they were going to send housekeeping round. A while after two people turned up, were there for around 5 mins and said there’s not much they can do but would get some dusters and equipment to come back and give places a dust & clean. Then no one ever showed back up!! Now we’d already made plans for this day prior to our stay so couldn’t sit in all day waiting for someone to come back so we had to go out. By the time we got back reception had closed and there was no sign that anyone had been or left a message for us to say they’d tried coming back. The person who had called (I presume reception/guest services) never checked back in to see if the issue had been sorted. On our check out day I’d put some clean white socks on in the morning and within 45 minutes they were filthy, brown stain marks all over them from the floors downstairs.

For a company that’s called ‘luxury lodges’, this lodge was far from luxury and was such a let down. We’d really looked forward to our stay and the least we expect when paying good money to stay somewhere that’s meant to be a solid 4* is for it to be cleaned properly. I’m sure others have had a completely different experience and good for them but unfortunately, we cannot match that and wanted to make others away of...

Unacceptable Treatment and Poor Customer Service

We recently booked a stay at Dylan Coastal Resort as a group of 10, splitting our party across two lodges for a weekend getaway. Unfortunately, what started as a relaxing weekend quickly turned into a nightmare due to the resort’s unprofessional behavior and poor customer service.

On Saturday evening, a group of us were enjoying the hot tub outside one of the lodges, simply chatting and making the most of our stay. At one point, a staff member approached and asked us to keep the noise down. While we didn’t think we were being excessively loud, we immediately complied and quieted down out of respect for the other guests. The interaction seemed polite, and we didn’t think much of it afterward.

To our utter shock and disbelief, the following morning we were abruptly informed by the resort’s staff that we were being ordered to leave the premises, without any real explanation or opportunity to discuss the situation. The staff claimed that our group had been too loud the previous evening, and despite the fact that we had already complied with their request to quiet down, they decided to evict us without warning. This sudden eviction also included members of our group who were staying in the second lodge and hadn’t even been present at the hot tub the night before.

We were completely taken aback by the way this situation was handled. When we tried to speak to the reception staff to explain that we had complied with the noise request and that other members of our group had done nothing wrong, they were rude, unhelpful, and outright dismissive. They refused to engage in any meaningful discussion or listen to reason. Instead, they insisted that we vacate both lodges immediately, forcing us to scramble for last-minute alternative accommodation for the rest of the weekend.

What made the situation even worse was the resort’s refusal to offer any refund or compensation for this incredibly distressing and unfair experience. We were left out of pocket for an entire night’s stay that we couldn’t even use, and no one from the resort showed any willingness to rectify the situation.

The way the resort handled this entire situation was extremely disappointing, from the abrupt eviction to their refusal to even consider a reasonable discussion. We had booked in good faith, followed the rules, and were treated with complete disrespect. Having to find new accommodation at the last minute added unnecessary stress to what should have been a relaxing weekend.

For anyone considering a stay at Dylan Coastal Resort, be aware that the management and staff clearly have no interest in providing good customer service or resolving issues fairly. We would strongly advise against staying here unless you want to risk being treated poorly and unfairly.

Final Verdict: Avoid this place if you expect professionalism, reasonable communication, and a positive guest experience. Our trip was ruined by their shocking treatment, and they showed no interest in...

My friends and I had visited this Resort previously without any issues. The rooms are nice and while the service was not 5 star, the staff were pleasant enough and quite helpful. I don't know what has made this change, but on our most recent trip my friends and I had the complete opposite experience.

From the get go the staff were noticeably colder than we had experienced on previous occasions, and there was a distinct impression that we weren't really wanted at the resort, despite having visited previously. A feeling of not being welcome was not the greatest start to the visit.

On our second night, a couple in the group were talking on the hot tub at around 1:00am when a member of staff asked them if they could keep the noise down. Nothing had been said prior to this, and on being asked the members of our party in the hot tub told the staff member of course and went to bed.

Nothing further was heard until the following morning when different members of our party tried to use the spa facilities. Before even reaching the spa entrance, a member of staff shouted at them across the lobby that they weren't using the spa, that they needed to leave the resort immediately and if they did not the Police would be called. This was obviously quite shocking given the lack of prior communication, and the staff member initially refused to explain why they were being asked to leave. Eventually the group was told that a noise complaint had been made the night before and the entire party needed to leave without further notice.

This was initially very hard to believe, as the people in the hot tub had gone to bed immediately when they were asked, and nothing further had been said. To say such an approach was heavy handed and disproportionate is an understatement. Given the attitude towards our group throughout the stay before this, it seems that the resort staff were basically looking for any excuse to get rid of our party.

What was even worse was that people our group knew who happened to be staying in the resort at the same time were also asked to leave, solely through association with our group. This group had not even been at our lodge that evening.

Naturally this ruined the entire weekend. Overall the attitude of the staff was extremely disappointing even before the party was asked to leave, and the conduct of the resort in asking the entire party to leave as well as other guests who knew us was very unprofessional. Our group has visited this resort on a number of occasions, but after this experience I would strongly recommend that anybody considering staying in Laugharne stay at one of the...
