The best meal I have ever eaten, ever... and I don't say that lightly! Honestly we have not stopped talking about it since we ate there last night. The food is incredible! Confit pig cheek starter was beautiful, black pudding melted in your mouth and the sauce complimented it very well. We both opted for steak for main and the glaze on the meat gave it an incredibly intense flavour, charred to perfection and cooked to our exact requests. The service is fantastic, the 2 main members of staff that looked after us were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We had our little one with us and they spoke to her directly, not something you see often and she was incredibly happy about it. It made her night! Thanks so much Dexter's for a fantastic evening, we will be back and we will be telling everyone to come visit!

The restaurant was booked as a surprise for my birthday after recommendation from a family member. We came a little early but were seated within minutes. Fabulous service, very friendly, nothing to be a trouble. Deco and atmosphere nice with good music. The food is exquisite. We did have prawns for starters and lamb and rumpstake for main. Lamb was cooked to perfection ( don't like it overdone) grilled courgette on bed of pesto with olives and feta. Beautiful, work of art. I have to say it's a gem in a small place. I recommend to everyone to try. I had a fabulous day, and dinner was a fantastic finish of my birthday weekend. Thank you 😊

My son and I came for dinner after a full day’s blacksmithing workshop, very much ready for a hearty dinner. The food was all excellent, from the delicate crunch of the crispy squid starter, to the melting, rich charred meatiness of the steaks - both cooked perfectly to the type of cuts. We had one filet and one ribeye, and they were both perfect. My son said his ribeye was in his ‘top three steaks of all time’. We had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which was a great finish. Atmosphere of the venue was also nice. Brick walls, but still felt warm and cosy due to lightning and decor. Great experience all round.

What a disappointment our meal was last night for our uncle birthdays, we use dexters at least once a month but sometimes twice normally more so the Carmarthen branch so we know what to expect when we have an evening meal with you. firstly the staff seemed like they was being held hostage and kept against their own will as they was unhappy. The drinks and food order was taken quickly what was a positive but that’s where it ends The starters was slammed down on the table We had order 3 Chateaubriand costing on average £90 per cut of meat. We had order one medium ,medium/rare and the final one being rare. They had mixed up the orders where they should have been placed on the table by the time it was sorted the meat was completely ruined! We did ask for the rare to be sent back and the waitress took it back to the kitchen and we could her the chef’s shouting at the poor girl it is rare!!! It wasn’t rare even the restaurant manager said it wasn’t rare…. Its totally unprofessional that you can hear the chefs shouting at the staff and an utter embarrassment to the brand (Dexters) we didn’t stay for pudding or coffees like we normally would as the whole situation left us feeling flat. Not only have you lost extra money because we didn’t purchase extras because of our situation I wouldn’t be recommending people to come here either. We was speaking to the waitress just before we was leaving and she was saying the chefs are always shouting at us !! this is something that needs addressing,In my opinion if your having a bad day and you mess up one Chateaubriand but 3 come on you should not be in the kitchen. the manager did offer to take 10% off the bill what we felt was our only option as we was all hungry and didn’t want to wait another 40 mins for a re cook We will sadly not be Returning to dexters at browns if someone would like reach out by email I will gladly explain our experience kind...

We visited for Sunday day lunch and feel the venue and staff need credit for an outstanding meal!

The portion sizes are very generous, and all food was of great quality. It's 1 of the best Sunday lunches we've experienced.

Staff were also fantastic, with good attention and relaxed interaction.

Overall - great value for money and if ever we're in the area again, then we will be sure to visit.

My only gripe was being told by a gentleman on arrival that the 'Hotel Parking' was for hotel guests. In my opinion, we were still guests of the business. Some guests visit for food, other guests stay the night. Maybe think of rephrasing or different signage if lunch guests are not welcome in the car park. Not going to change how fantastic everything else was, but small tweaks can make it...
