Carlton Corner Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Harborough

From the moment we arrived at Carlton Corner we felt both completely at home but also like we were going to be treated like royalty, which indeed was the case!

Jay greeted us with the warmest of welcomes, apologising immediately for the fact that she couldn’t shake our hands or help us with luggage etc because of the current precautions we are all subject to, but none of that made any difference – the measures she and Dave had taken to keep guests safe in no way got in the way of us feeling completely relaxed and like we were on a truly luxury break away.

We had booked the beautiful Garden Room with its own patio overlooking the gorgeous English countryside, where we enjoyed breakfast both mornings and a takeaway dinner too on our second night! The room was beautifully appointed, with the most sleep-inducing bedding and mattress that made it quite hard to get up in the mornings, and a fabulous modern bathroom with high end toiletries and extra fluffy giant white towels. Breakfast was a choice of everything from Full English (including a vegetarian option) to Continental and everything in between (including pancakes!), along with toast and fresh tea or coffee and juice. And again, despite the somewhat unique circumstances currently, the service was first class and nothing was too much trouble.

The house is situated in the heart of Kibworth Harcourt and is a less than 5 minute walk to the Award Winning Boboli Restaurant, as well as a couple of pubs, and then there are also the many lovely boutiques and shops in the village of Kibworth Beauchamp a short car ride away. It’s the perfect spot to base yourself to explore the local area or simply to chill for a few nights.

Overall Carlton Corner feels like a true passion project, and it’s a place we will be returning to many times I am sure. In fact I have already booked our next stay in September!!

We had an absolutely delightful stay at the Carlton Corner B&B back in September 2021. On the afternoon we got there, I had been bitten by an insect enroute and didn’t feel 100%. However, on arrival we had the warmest welcome from Jay who kindly settled us in. Our room was perfect. Jay let us park our ‘beloved’ motorbike right outside our room so it made my hubby happy. The room is of the highest quality with high end fixtures and fittings, beautiful bedding and soft fluffy towels. The bed was really comfortable and after a very pleasant evening, at the local Italian recommended by our hosts, we had a perfect nights sleep. The breakfast was expertly cooked by lovely Jay with a wide variety of choice. Lovely place to stay with nice pubs and great for eating out on the doorstep. Our only regret was we could only stay one night as we were doing a round Britain rally. We will definitely return to this very pleasant B&B if we are in the area. A Great Two Night Stay

Everything, clearly showed that lots of thought, care and effort goes into the Carlton Corner Bed and Breakfast. All aspects of our stay were of a high standard and for the room rate paid represented excellent value. This B&B is set in a pleasant location with a choice of pubs and restaurants close by. The room was lovely, beautifully fitted out and immaculately kept/serviced. The breakfast was fantastic, as was the variety on the breakfast menu.

The hospitality was simply at a top level, for us a perfect balance of being kind/welcoming/friendly and helpful, yet also managing to give us our own space. We felt there was a real genuine interest and pride taken in ensuring your stay is the best it could possibly be.

To summarise, very happy, would recommend and we look forward to staying again in the future.
