What a surreal visit to this place!! On a positive note, the lady on the bar and the two waitresses were great and friendly. All went well up until the arrival of the Lasagne which was overcooked to the point of being blackened and charred. The kitchen had tried to hide this with lashings of cheddar but I couldn't get my knife through the rock solid pasta. I apologised to the waitress for being a pain an pointed the state of the Lasagne out to her - we grinned at each other and she took it away and then brought me out a replacement. I had a bite and it was luke warm so I tested the centre and it was cold. Not being able to find waiting staffI went to the side bar door away from the others in the pub so as not to make a big deal in front of other clientele. Again, I apologised and explained the situation to the smallish, greying man with a beard behind the bar. I said to him that unfortunately the first dish was burnt to buggery and the new dish was still cold in the middle. At this point he became very aggressive and refused to deal with me because of my language and attitude. I didn't recall swearing but when he said it was the word buggery that had offended him I almost laughed........a landlord that deals with drunks and men chatting and using foul language in his pub - surely this couldn't be right!! He became more aggressive and said we should leave. My husband was mid meal at this point. Strangely he said to my husband "You would be offended if she spoke to you like that and used the word buggery" - No, no I don't think he would be offended somehow.... Sitting here, we can't believe his over reaction and attitude. Bottom line is, I received two sub standard meals and he couldn't take the criticism. Not only did he make us leave he felt it necessary to escort us out of the pub to the car. We hadn't raised our voices or used any foul language what so ever - we had picked up our coats and was leaving quietly so this was completely unnecessary. As he followed us he was being aggressive and was trying to bait my husband and I into an argument with each other for goodness sake. This is human behaviour at it's worst!! We wouldn't step foot in here again and from reading other reviews this is not the first time he has overreacted in an aggressive and...

Read moreMy wife and I wanted to celebrate her Birthday with a day out with friends, part of which was lunch. We decided to ring the Coach & Horses Kibworth and book a table for six on 29th January as we were out and about in their area. It was purely a speculative booking and wow did it turn out brilliantly! Everything about the experience; the food, menu variety, ambiance and service were all first class, also the bill was pleasantly modest too. We certainly will be booking again soon. As a lunch or evening venue we thoroughly recommend it to others who want to eat out in a typical English country pub and enjoy an alround excellent experience. John &...
