Donāt travel without checking the mgrs whim or wind direction, they are actually closed
Very poor service, frosty and ambivalent staff and an entrenched āI donāt want customersā approach to running a pub.
Last orders prior to covid meant a fixed and regular closing time subject to a seriously quiet night. Since covid it means, nah we want to go home and you can too, go home. Twice Iāve bothered to walk here after work with guests and twice Iāve been told nope, closed. When was 19:30 a closing time??
Question: How can we give you money to help your post covid recovery if you close too early and stop us from spending with you? You can try the financial argument about staff costs and client sales but Iāve read your accounts. Iām looking forward to 2022ās as well. Youāve got a good nbv with cash in hand. Once I find the other pubsā accounts Iāll update this post. You could stay open and breathe life back into this area. You received covid relief, and what, NOW you donāt want to be a pub?
If that is true and that you donāt want to be a pub, according to your accounts and those of your estates company and itās holding company, Iād suggest the rot appears some time around 2015. Gosh, what a fall from the heady, full pub, happy customers and full tills of way back when youāve managed to turn away. Those cash tills donāt ring like they did onceā¦we can see, online for free!!!!
Wonāt labour the details, but itās not rocket science to develop a guess as to why youāve declinedā¦(obvs company info free and online these days). Or fix it and stay open and attract guests by allowing custom????
The fourth most popular attraction in Leicestershire has the most unwelcoming, the most client inconveniencing and consumer sovereignty contra view of service Iāve encountered in years.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the worse food Iāve had in a long while at the swans last night ā¦after really looking forward to a nice meal out ā¦as I had previously had at the Swan . The menu was very basic ⦠we had to order at the bar and pay for our food before we got it and we didnāt even get shown to our table ⦠just told to sit anywhere. I had barely got back to the table from ordering and our food was being brought out to us ā¦. Very suspicious!!! Weād ordered three bowlsā¦tempura prawns , garlic mushroom (no garlic insight and even the dip was just plain mayo) and what was meant to be halloumi fries .. ( just deep fried over cooked cold and hard bits of halloumi) but we were assured every thing was freshly cooked !!! There was no salad varnish in sight . The five small halloumi fryās worked out at Ā£1 each ā¦. No cutlery was given and when we expressed out disappointment at the over priced bland Food we just got a non genuine sorry .As you can imagine we will not be wasting our money on food there again , which is a shame as the pub is lovely inside . Not the standard I was expecting and totally overpriced for the small bowls of frozen and deep fried brought in food we actually got ā¦. Itās certainly not the restaurant it use to be more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSent me a partially incorrect meal, made it clear as soon as it arrived and I was told the manager will be made aware. Nobody spoke to me. I asked for the manager when I received the bill, who refused to replace or refund that part as she said they 'provided a full meal, it was just human error from the Waitress not mentioning that part of the meal was out of stock, so they replaced it and provided a full meal.' Not the one I ordered and I did say I didn't enjoy/eat it, but she was adament a full meal means I must pay in full regardless if I liked/(didn't) order it.
After a strong debate in front of my children and other customers, the manager finally took it off. Didn't have any regard for the fact I didn't eat/enjoy/order it, she just gave up really.
