What a wonderful find! The location on the south side of the city was perfect for visiting family, and it was surprisingly peaceful. Slept like a log! We stayed in the Studio, which was extremely well equipped for cooking, and I was pleased that the kitchenette was pretty much a separate galley kitchen rather than everything being in one big room (although be aware that there are three steps down from the kitchen/bathroom/entryway to the bedroom). Everything was immaculate, and it was easy to contact the owners when needed. It was lovely and toasty on a very cold January weekend, but with the advantage that we could turn the radiators up and down to suit ourselves. Beautiful big picture window onto a garden/patio area that will be wonderful in summer (even so, we enjoyed looking out at it and seeing foxes, a regular squirrel visitor and even a parakeet!). Be aware that there is NO mobile signal whatsoever unless you stand in the garden, and no mobile data available either. However, the wifi works very effectively so you can still make and receive calls via...
Read moreI gave 5* because of the price and what you get for it. I didn't like that there is no parking. Public parking in a 15min walk. It's about 10 mins from shops and pubs, bus stop straight outside. No reception, there is a machine you put your booking ref in and it gives you your card so it's great but if you have a problem there noone to talk to. You walk in and it had fresh new carpet. Walls and doors looks fresh and white. Room was small and the bathroom even smaller. If you sneezed on the toilet you'd knock yourself out on the sink. You could practically wash your feet in the shower while taking a wee but as I said for the price it was clean and pleasant. The room was small but you have a desk and kettle. The lighting was off centre so no good for doing your make up at the desk. Bed very comfy, the place was warm and clean. I'd stay again for the price of it for...
Read moreWriting this review just after midnight because I've once again been woken by the room next door banging and laughing. This is not a hotel but a 'room let' meaning there's no reception that can help find another room or resolve the noice issue. The noice is mainly caused by the building never being intended as a hotel so the walls are thin.
The mattress is very soft. Some might prefer this but if you like even slight lumbar support in a mattress, you won't like this. The pillows are simalarly thin and soft, again perhaps a prefence for some but if you'd like any neck support, please bring your own pillows.
Besides a dried lens stuck to the floor the room seems clean upon arrival. Room is reasonably sized and, having a garden room meant we saw a fox which was...
