Went to order half a pint of coke and do quiz with a friend. The landlord said, "drink for two of you." Jokingly, I laughed and said that we were. Landlord said that he disapproved of my choice and said he was trying to run a business. I apologised and said that I had a rough night beforehand. I even offered to get another drink and he said that I didn't need to spend money if didn't want to. One of Oxfords beautiful gems this pub. Always a friendly welcome ,this time of year a warming log fire is roaring away. A good choice of ales and lager. Quirky seating arrangements mean you have a choice of lower bar and higher pub seating. They also produce great handmade pizzas with lots of veggie options too. Great place definitely one of my favourite haunts and now living in Marcham I really miss it but makes it more special when I can get myself to visit. Very cosy pub, we went for a vegan Sunday roast and they managed to squeeze us in last minute. I cannot rate the chef highly enough!! He was rushed off his feet but still found the time to explain the dishes to us as well as the selection of homemade sauces available, all the while keeping a big smile on his face.
