Liked: The campsite was clean and well maintained. There was a really big space for our son to play with the other kids within my eye line. The bathrooms and washing up areas were clean and the showers were unusually good for a campsite! We were staying in one of the pods as a treat (we usually pitch our tent) which was nice just for two nights. It was clean and had the steam trains going past just behind us! The views were beautiful. It is a fairly small campsite which we like with no bells or whistles and no WiFi which suits us, and makes sure that you are surrounded by campers have the same attitude towards camping as us!
Disliked: For the money (Ā£90 per night) the pod could have been a little bit better. It was a pod that sleeps four. It was adequate don't get me wrong and maybe my standards of expectations are a bit out but it wasn't a double bed so my husband and I were very squished (and we are not big people) the seating in the pod was not enough for four people only three and the work top was a bit warped. The fridge was miniscule and was not big enough to hold food for one days worth of cooking, let alone two. Our gas ran out mid cooking (this was provided as part of the pod price) it was replaced without question but the office was rarely open so had to phone for owners and wait for them to come so just a slight frustration that we then couldn't all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed in Bell Tent 2 and it was just beautiful, we had our own little area with view of the countryside and perfect view of the Steam Trains. It was lovely to see all the children run to the viewing area and wave to everyone. It was perfect for us as we took our dog and we had the entrance to the woodland trail. Sweet little walk with rope guides so you don't get lost. The Camp field was lovely and everyone was chilling and the children were happily playing, there was a football net for the kids. In the evening everyone had fire pits and BBQs, it felt really cozy. Washing up and shower facilities were spotless. Cleaning products in every room and you clean yourself after. I got up in the night and the staff were cleaning the whole area at 2.30am. I loved that music plays in that area too. The staff were lovely and friendly and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and drove round and said hello and we had a nice chat. We walked to the Bodium Boating Lake which was about a 5 Min walk. Where the kids were allowed to swim in the river. They loved that so much! The only thing that would have been helpful was a dust pan and brush in the tent as the bark gets in. But I'm pretty sure had I have asked for one they would have given me one so not a complaint at all just an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe hired a bell tent for the weekend, family of 4. Facilities are clean and tidy, campsite is well laid out with plenty of space in the middle for kids to play. There is a small climbing frame area to the corner too. The tent was clean and came with utensils, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, bottle opener, cork screw, knife and veg pealer. BBQ to the outside area, lovely picnic bench big enough for us and the food. Gorgeous views and the train track for bodium runs along the back. At the entrance there is an Indian restaurant called Sahebs, we had a meal here on our first night, friendly staff, food is cooked to perfection! Along the way there is lime warf, who hire out kayaks, row boats, sups and canoes, they have a wonderful cafe/bar with an amazing garden! Further up you'll find nibbles cafe which serves great food and drinks, across the way there is the white Hart pub again gorgeous food, drinks and garden, you have to register your car for parking in the pub, which you can have 3 hours or 24hours for free. Highly recommended camping here and exploring the near...
