I booked this hotel online for £46 for two and didn't have high expectations .boy was I happy !! once inside its like a rabbit warren with so many rooms and wonderful quirky features like our bathroom which had an arched celling. our room was small and compact and perfect for our 1 night stop over .kettle tea coffee etc shower and sink and toilet , clean bedding in co ordinating colours within our room nice and warm and cosy yes it isn't a new building and the floorboards creak and i don't care. i like the character of the place i don't need hospital style hotels with no atmosphere . the bar is big with a large range of drinks available and décor is great with a film and music influence. the prices were great too they have kar-e-oke nights pool table and some machines for good measure it also has a really nice cosy patio/smoking area I cant wait to go in the summer time . the landlady was helpful very friendly ( without being false ) she was kind enough to order food from local takeaway for us as we had not eaten and were going to the arena for the evening ..she organised taxi numbers and we were happy she introduced us to two other people who were going and we shared a taxi there and back . one of the regulars in the bar in the afternoon asked politely if we were watching the TV as he wanted to watch football I thought this was very nice . the hotel is a stones throw away from the arena £6.00 in a taxi and is a fraction of the price of all the others . unfortunately we did not have time to stay and sample breakfast but we will return without a doubt ..its a down to earth friendly well run place to stay I could not have found anywhere better . 100%...
Read moreI have just come back from my 2 day business stay here. Its okay for what i needed, cheap and ideal location for where i was working. Staff was very nice and helpful. ||However... I would never take my girlfriend to this place for a overnight stay as the room had no shower/toliet, carpet was wet and all the hallways, and i mean all of them smelt like urine. ||Very old looking run down place. Shabby and i think rating it 3 stars/average is over generious. ||And looking at some of the other reviews i agree with, locals are alcoholics and druggies. I didnt feel safe leaving my car in the back of the hotel open car park, which is not really a car park, its a passage way to other businesses!! But i cant fault the staffs efforts,...
Read moreOmg where do I start!! On arrival we were asked "What we doing tonight" which I replied "Early night as we're up to watch Snooker " she Burst out laughing with reply "you'll need these & give us a pair ear plugs each. She said "There is a party tonight here" we went up to our room which was for 4 of us, well I could imagine prison being worse, filthy, mouldy, cold and furniture from the 60s, the door creaked like hell. That was nothing until the music started, everything in the room vibrated, my phone slipped off night stand because of it. This went in until 2am and then there was drunken fights outside and noise of broken glass. I've travelled the World but without a doubt the Worst place...
