As soon as we walked in we were wowed at how clean everything was. The decor was really well thought out and quite atmospheric.
The waiter even had what appeared to be a traditional Afghani outfit on which looked great!
We ordered the lamb shank on a bed of lovely fragrant rice with carrots and raisins and lamb chops with cumin and again lovely rice.
Before the main we had dal soup which to be fair was fairly hot (and I can do spice, me).
All meat was tender and really lean the rice was moist and tasty. The bread we asked for to try and absorb the soup heat was so fresh and delicious too!
I will definitely go again. The only thing I would improve is the choice of dishes, salad dressing on the main and the soup needs to come out at least 20 mins before the main please.
The staff were really friendly and polite and kept that restaurant spotless! Well done lads! Yum yum in my tum....

I had an absolutely fantastic meal at My Watan last night. I ordered the famous Chapli Kebab and the Kabli Pilau. Both dishes were exceptional! The Chapli Kebab was packed with flavour and had the perfect spicing, while the lamb in the Kabli Pilau was so tender and fell apart beautifully.
The meal was made even better by the wonderfully fluffy and warm nan bread that was generously given as a compliment it was delicious and perfect for scooping up everything. The fresh salad and cool mint sauce on the side were the ideal accompaniments to the rich, aromatic meats.
Incredible food, generous portions, and such lovely service. For a solo diner, I felt very welcome and well-looked after. This place is a true gem. I will be telling all my friends and coming...
