We arrived full of hope, as we parked up outside the Poshly named Ramada Cambridge Hotel, we checked in via the reception desk come bar, come maintenance, come customer service, one very hassled staff member, the initial booking in was fine as we were 2nd in the queue, we got our room key and went to see what it was like, well neither of us was disabled and they had given us a disabled room, with a toilet with a proper cushioned back rest, which would be fab for flicking through the Sun or Daily Sport, but the sink was only suitable for a vertically challenged person, being 3inch off the floor, the bath too wouldn't have worked for a romantic couples night being only half a bath, with a giant seat, although possibly could have worked!!!, we were then swiftly moved upto the second floor, on entry we discovered a cascading rapid water sound, the toilet was constantly running like niagra falls, and the room was like a Turkish Sauna, we were both sweating like a Traveller at a Job Interview!!, we were then moved to our 3rd room of the night, but on entry had a disco light shower, and 1 3/4 bed and 2 single beds squashed at the side with a gap to get down the side of the bed, meaning if your legs weren't as thin as wafers, you'd no chance, anyway please think carefully when booking this hotel, make sure you arrive at night, and preferably leave at night, oh and beware the weed smoking thickos that stand outside the main doors for the lovely smell to permiate inside. As the Queen commented, it was an Anas Horriblas. You pays your money you take...
Read moreWe stayed the last week in May and the reception staff were very friendly when we checked in. We were given a twin room which I’d asked for and it didn’t look pleasant from the off. We found what appeared to human excrement on the carpet and unfortunately I was so disgusted I flushed it away. After having another look round I reported this to the reception and I was asked if it was human or animal. Either way if the room had been cleaned there would have been neither. Looking around the room part of the net curtain was hanging down. Where the bed had been moved to make it a twin the carpet and skirting board were filthy. One light was loose on the wall. We were however given another room which again the carpet was very unpleasant. Again it had not been cleaned between the beds and there were sweet wrappers on the floor. One wall light didn’t work and I was told they had no replacement bulbs. The other was loose. We had no net curtain in this room so we had to have the curtains drawn at all times. I know it’s a budget hotel but it should have been clean and the beds were uncomfortable so we did not have a too good a nights sleep. As my wife said we will never stay there again especially as the next two nights we stayed in a far superior and comfortable Premier Inn where we had a very...
Read moreSo I went to a wedding not too long back, drove for 4 hours to get to Norfolk, after the wedding I thought I'd drive half way back home and get a hotel with my wife. When I stopped at these services I saw the Ramada and thought 🤔 that looks nice. I went into the reception area after walking past three staff members on the little bench outside having a good old smoke, there was a guy waiting in front of me, one of the staff came in Arriana is her name. The man in front of me waiting to speak to someone asked Arriana "how do I use this iPad? I can't get on the internet". I thought she would just give him 30 seconds help and then see if I was ok, even just a little acknowledgement would have been ok. But no, she helped him for ten minutes at the least, the others were still smoking. I actually got very wound up and I am sorry but I did swear (it was 01:00 am) I said "f*%$ this" under my breath and walked out. I would actually never stay at a Ramada again after this incident. I work for a massive American information technology company and travel a lot for work but I refuse to stay at any Ramada's now! I think the staff should be taught customer service as it is key in incidents like these. It is a hotel, not a Genius Bar! Thanks.
