The selection is better than that afforded to even the most decadent King, Louis XIV of France, who would famously have a selection of meals from around the world prepared for him at each meal time, before choosing one and discarding the rest. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Extra Cambridge Services, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The facilities are top-notch, and the attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the service area. Firstly, the location is incredibly convenient, situated just off the A14/M11 route, making it an ideal stop for travelers. The ample parking space, including designated areas for HGVs, coaches, caravans, and motorhomes, ensures that there's always a spot available, no matter the size of your vehicle.

The food court is a highlight, offering a wide variety of dining options to suit all tastes. From Costa Coffee to McDonald's, KFC, Chopstix, west Cornwall Pasty and M&S Simply Food, there's something for everyone. The washrooms are clean and the site is clean which created a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment, perfect for a relaxing break during a long journey.

One of the standout features is the newly refurbished children's play area, which provides a safe and fun space for kids to burn off some energy.

The outdoor seating area is also a great addition, allowing visitors to enjoy their meals in a pleasant, landscaped setting.

Yesterday I pulled into the services and spotted a HGV in front of me leaking a huge amount of diesel on the entrance road. This was a major spillage and had created a river of diesel that vehicles had no choice but to drive through and spread further.

I went into the services and approached a member of staff and they put me in direct contact with a Supervisor. I explained the issue and the man jumped into action gathering team members as he headed off out to investigate. The services are very good and have a wide range of outlets to dine at, the toilets were clean, everything worked and there was no litter visible outside on the seating areas. I visit a lot of services and this is my second favorite to Tebay so high praise indeed. After visiting Chopstix for some food and filling up with fuel, I spotted the gentleman again at the exit where the fuel spillage was located, he was carrying bags of absorbent granules in the summer heat and team members were busy advising customers of the hazard when entering. Although this looked like a challenging situation, the gentleman was incredibly positive always with a smile and thanked me for raising the issue and for visiting the services which was nice.
