I've stayed in this hotel on/off for last year. This is my b&b of choice everytime i'm in Southampton. The owner, Barbara, is a very nice lady and always ready to assist.||Rooms are basic but very you have everything you need. Hot water, nice bed, selection of towels etc.||Free Wifi.||Breakfast is really good. Make sure you try it.||You can choose what hot breakfast you want. Lady in the kitchen will offer coffee, tea, toasts as well.||Parking in front of the hotel is available for 3 cars. But don't worry if there is not enough space, parking on the next street and several roads next to the hotel are absolutely free for restrictions.||To get to central Southampton will take you about 5-7 minutes by car or about 20 minutes walk.||I would choose Madison House over any chain hotel while i'm in Southampton.||I guarantee you would come back there again.||Booking directly is actually cheaper than via...

She ensured she came to check up that everything was in order as soon as she came back, which it was. ||I stayed in a twin bedded room, which was immaculately clean and comfortable.||As I went out in the evening and didn't have breakfast (as I was meeting friends), I didn't see that much of Barbara, but when I did, she was always warm and engaging.||Shame I couldn't partake of her breakfast, which according to TripAdvisor, is pretty good. Maybe next time!...

During my stay, the fire alarm went off 3 times and every time it took their fire Marshall over 1 hour to get here to turn it off each and every time. Speaking to other guests who had been staying here confirmed this was “a thing”. Their “emergency contact number” also doesn’t connect to anything, so that’s fun. All you get is a WhatsApp chat. Parking is an absolute nightmare, my room stank of cigarettes, the shower heads are clogged with chalk, your “fully equipped kitchen” could win an award for bluntest knifes in the world, the drying machine didn’t work for about 1 week of my stay, etc. I wouldn’t stay...
