The Dog & Duck — Restaurant in Southampton

Nice clean pub, went for the food which we had been told was very good but unfortunately chose a day when the pub was full of twenty something's supporting a sports event on the TV which is in the same area as the food service. The service was okay, nothing exactly wrong, the order was taken, the food was timely served with clean utensils and sauces but no attempt at a smile or conversation or asking if we needed anything, just enough effort but no enthusiasm, and not what I would expect in a food pub, our empty plates were still on the table when we left and we weren't offered a dessert menu or coffee etc which most places like to discuss as they clear the table in case you changed your mind from when you first ordered. I felt like we were interrupting something obviously more important (the sport on the TV perhaps). Overall a nice pub, decent food and I might give it one more go on a different day to see if it makes a better...

Not very often I’m giving reviews on restaurants but this for me was unfortunately huge disappointment,

We arrived yesterday after 4pm was quite empty We ordered the food and for some reason we were waiting nearly 40min to get the food.

Not gonna say anything bad about the food I would say it was good I had chicken devolie and my son and my Miss had gulash and potato pancake was quite average.

The most annoying was I get charge 12.5% service charge where the is not much of a service I needed to pick up menu myself and order at the bar. Also is mentioned in the menue that the service charge is applied for 4+ servings and was only 3 of us. I paid about £67 for 3 of us with 2 soft drink and 1 beer.

Sorry to say that but I was very disappointed over all experience for that...

One of my friend recommended me this place as there is a nice Polish food so me and my family went there. I ordered goulash with potato pancakes as this is one of my favourite dish in general. Unfortunately the goulash was tasteless and had a water consistency to the point that soked in to the pancake straight away. Pancakes came burnt as hell I’ve ate half and decided to leave it as it was truly horrible. I only decided to write this review because I was up all night and throwing up after this meal I believe I got a food poisoning. Also we been added on top 12% service charges where it says clearly in the menu that they add this 12% for 4+ covers and we went there as a family of 3. Definitely I would never...
