Up north - stayed one night to visit a local plant for business. SatNav sent us around the back, so double check the post code if navigating here. Staff pleasant and friendly. Brewers Fayre opposite and busy. Room was cold initially turned heating on and found quite noisy throughout the night. Room and hotel were tired so could do with some repairs and paint. Bathroom ok and shower hot though towels were on small side, no heated rail or de-misting mirror which is quite common now days. Window only opened an inch and could hear the motorway quite clearly! Restaurant immediately opposite about 10 strides. Food and service was ok nothing special as was breakfast, though a bit dried out if I am honest, as the food was kept hot. Menu fairly simple. Local farm smells in the morning made us hit the road quick. Not bad value though I would look to stay elsewhere if I were in area again...3/5

One of the more rougher premier inn I've been to but it served it's purpose . Room was okay - in need of a paint but it was comfortable and very warm - on that the whole building was roasting hot - definitely needed heating turning down . We had a nice meal in the adjoining pub plus breakfast was nice . Took an age to order the evening meal , I was trying use blue light card they were having trouble with accepting vouchers and the Asian lady serving was ever so nice sorting it out until this horrible lady with dark hair stuck her beak in not a very nice manager at all

Last minute booking but decent value. Positives: - modern room/or recently refurbished - friendly staff - comfortable bed and pillows - quiet room - strong shower pressure - about 30mins to drive to york - pub next door with good english breakfast for £10 Negatives: - room a bit small but modern - free internet is a slow buy option to buy faster option Would recommend and visit again if around this part of the country

By a absolute mile, one of the worst Premier Inn's in the country!!!!!

Do not stay here if you wish to actually sleep.

I have stayed here twice now, within the last 2 months, and will not be returning, you genuinely would get a better night's sleep in the central reservation of the A1.

The first week stay was back in May, and the second in June, not very warm outside and a lot of rain, both times, the rooms, however, was uncomfortably boiling.

My coworker and I would return to the room around 18:50, room fan had been on all day, window open, yet the temperature was minimum of 20°C.

By 21:00 - 23°C, Then everynight about 03:00, the room would spike in temperature, making it literally a sauna, not helped by the fact none of the bathroom extractors work either, as in the mornings the mirrors would still be steamed up (9hrs later).

Spoke to the receptionist, which informed us the building has no AC, and in their words, " Unfortunately the rooms do get to hot with 2 of you in a room, I would book 2 rooms next time", then why offer double rooms?!?!

Also, there is very little to no WiFi on the far end of the building and data usage is poor due to all the industrial units near by, plus the only real option for food is the turnpike pub next door. So, over priced and not the best of quality either.

Plus, I knowing not directly the hotels fault, but the evenings entertainment is rat spotting, as all the bushes near by have plenty.

Overall, Avoid unless it's winter, or you require swimming pool of your...

We often use the hotel as a stop off point after visiting the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, which is close by. We have always found the hotel staff to be extremely helpful and polite. The rooms are your typical Premier Inn style. They are comfy and clean. If you like your designer outlet shopping, Junction 32 is a very short distance away. Would highly recommend this hidden (and it is hidden) gem of a hotel. Our only negative was the restaurant next door (Brewers Fayre - Turnpike). We had pre booked the meal deal. We went to order 2 carveries, only to be told there was none. This was on a Sunday (about 4pm). We then asked if we could have the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner....to be told they also didnt have that. The manager didnt seem that interested when we were ordering. We must admit the food we did order arrived very quickly, was warm and was nice. The following morning we return ed for breakfast (part of the meal deal). We wasnt late but looked like they were low on food. We asked for orange juice but was told they didnt have any. Im not sure if they are having ordering stock issues but it was very disappointing. For the price of the meal deal we didnt really think it was worth it, mainly because of the lack of choice. Most of the main meals are £10 and most of the desserts £5, so for the extra £10 you get a drink and breakfast. We probably wont eat there again, which is a shame as we have had no issues there before.

Premier Inn Pontefract - Highly recommended Turnpike Restaurant - Not...

This was a stop off en route to Scotland, I read previous reviews after booking and might not have booked if I’d read them first but really I have no complaints. We stayed in 9 different accommodations on our holiday around Scotland and this Premier Inn came in at number 6 on our list. After reading other reviews I was kinda dreading it but check in was easy and friendly and we were able to book our table for dinner straight away. The lady behind the bar in the restaurant was not overly warm and seemed a little laid back, kinda lackadaisical and ‘am I bothered’, I think maybe we were getting on her nerves and with her obvious elevated status she was able to pass us on to her younger team mates who were more comfortable to talk to anyway. I rated this Premier Inn over our number 7 Premier Inn because I absolutely loved our carvery dinner, the servers were lovely and wow…roast dinner with macaroni cheese (an acquired taste I’m sure) was absolutely delicious. Room’s were a little unkempt but we slept well and had no problem whatsoever with the wi-fi. Parking was easy and location for our purpose...
