Stayed in late July early August, did not want to write a bad review but I am actually very disappointed! The more I think on it the more disappointed I am.
This was our favorite place along our travels to and from Florida. We opted out of checking in on our phones (and truly we were early) because we had a hope to see the young lady that was always there. Two ladies were speaking at the desk and when my husband asked after our usual girl the younger of the two made a face and said, "Who? No ones ever worked here with that name." The other girl laughed and walked away.
We've been coming for years to this hotel, multiple times a year. For the past three the same young lady has checked us in. In fact we just spoke with her over the phone to end of June. I understand if she is not working that day but tell us that! We are old not stupid!
Once this girl finally checks us in we get up to the room; two towels one wash cloth, the floors are sticky, the bed looks slept in, and there is mold in the bathroom.
I'm not sure why we expected good service from the desk after our initial check in experience but we call down anyways. My husband had to go down for more towels, was told the floors were sticky due to the cleaning solution not fully being dry, we managed with the bed. There was no offer to give us another room or even to change the sheets.
Freda as always was a saint, best employee there by FAR. Breakfast as always was spectacular. We were hoping to see our girl on morning shift but unfortunately she wasn't there.
My husband and I learned by sitting there in the lobby that the lady that thought it was funny for her desk person to make fun of us was in fact a manager. I've never managed a hotel but it would seem to me that an employee making fun of my customers would be something I would correct instantly not laugh and walk away from.
I want to clarify, my disappointed is not in the fact that our usual girl was not working while we were there. We are disappointed in the quality of our stay and the complete unprofessionalism of the lady that checked us in and the MANAGER that allowed her to treat us like we were stupid and poke fun at our intelligence. This place has truly gone down hill and it seems it will keep going down.
My husband recalled that our usual girl is one of the managers. I plan to call the hotel until I can reach her, she needs to know how her employees act when she is...
Read moreI could have gotten the same service staying at a homeless shelter. At least I might have gotten a better option for breakfast. The manager is rude and doesn't want to fix small problems. He was basically about to check me out rather than find a shower chair since I'm disabled and need one and it wasn't in the bathroom as it was shown online. The oven was broken so there was only one hot option for breakfast - toast. The waffle batter ran out and it took over half an hour for them to make more. Then, they were already pulling the breakfast items out and putting them back in the kitchen an hour early. The elevators hadn't been inspected in over a year which isn't surprising because one of them hardly worked. The housekeeping staff was nice. They at least asked me if I needed fresh towels. But my room was never serviced despite that. They were understaffed I could see. The pool was being drained when I tried to use it. And when it was full, it was ice cold. It was an indoor pool so I guess I just assumed it would be a little heated. Yet, there were no towels in the pool area as they had been overfilled in the bin, so who knows when they were washed last. The rooms themselves had small waste baskets so everyone shoved their trash into the receptacles in the hallways or outside. The guest laundry didn't work, which I didn't find out until AFTER I had poured the liquid detergent in and placed my clothes in it. The beds were okay but I stayed at Comfort Suites the rest of my trip and those were better. The furniture in the room was not comfortable at all. It could also tell you where it was when it saw Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon. They gave me a GrubHub promo that didn't work. The manager went ahead and gave me 5,000 points so I couldn't voice my concerns anymore, so I can't be compensated anymore. And 5,000 points is nothing. He was also very cold and unpleasant to me when I checked out but was very nice and cordial to the other man who checked out behind me. I will NEVER be back here. If you have Hilton Honors, don't stay here. It's just a Hampton in name only. This is not a three-star hotel unless it's...
Read moreWe stayed here last night after a long day of driving. Hampton Inn is our usual choice due to cleanliness and comfortable beds. The front desk attendant was very friendly and efficient. I asked for a quiet room away from traffic and were given room 306. The traffic noise was minimal however the vent fan in the bathroom made a loud constant vibration and the ceiling light was burned out. There was also some trash left from the previous guests which made me question if the room had actually been cleaned. I requested to switch rooms and was moved down the hall to 306, which was a larger room. We got settled in when I noticed 3 used bottles of water and a ziplock bag on the bathroom counter along with the previous guests key sleeve. A thick layer of dust was present on the shelf under the sink and the headboard of the bed. Again questioning if this room was actually cleaned?! The bed was made and looked clean so we just dealt with it since we were tired. Got cozy in bed then realized the ice machine was outside our room and made a loud racket each time it made fresh ice. That really didn't matter, the bed was not comfortable so not much actual sleep occured. The other unpleasant inconvenience was the noise from the bathroom next to us. There may have been a wall in between the rooms but no sound barrier if you get my meaning. Again, the woman at the front desk was very kind and accommodating but she was the only one working and I didn't want to keep bothering her. Again, Hampton Inn is where we almost always stay because we know it will be clean with a comfortable bed. Hampton Inn, you've dropped the ball on this one. We expect better for the price we pay to stay at...
