If you go to Cracker Barrel regularly, you know how things typically go. Everything is good enough, but not quite great. Breakfast time is usually better than other times of the day. One saving grace is service usually outweighs all of it. This evening proved to be less than stellar. We arrived at the tail end of dinner rush 7. Were given a 30 minute wait. Cool. Not a big deal, my family likes to browse and shop. They bought some things from the store. We waited a tad longer than 30 minutes and were seated. Sweet! Not there for more than two to three minutes and our server comes over to take our drink order. Right on. She's nice. Asks if we're ready to order. We ask for a few minutes. We get around 15 when our drinks come out, teas and lemonades, and make our order. Our server takes care of her other table or two and begins to clean her section. And we wait, about 30 minutes and more than half of that with empty drinks, not a word, barely a look, she's cleaning and her other tables have gone. Then, she comes by and asks if we need anything. Refills please. We get them quickly. Then she goes back to cleaning. Not a word about our meals, or if she can get us anything besides the biscuits and cornbread we got right after we ordered. Then we continued to wait while she cleaned. 30 minutes later, not a word, empty drinks, she's been gone for a bit, probably break. It has been over an hour since we ordered, the restaurant is not busy, and we ask for a manager because we haven't seen our server, nor has anyone come with our food. She comes out at that point and asks if we need anything, and tells us the manager would be right out, could she get us some refills. Yes, please, and when is our food coming out, and I saw the "oh no!" look on her face as she said let me check and we'll get that right out." She thought we'd already eaten. The manager comes out, "What's wrong?" Well, we ordered an hour ago and we haven't received our food. His response was they've been busy. We said, we we've seen two tables right over there, one with almost double our party of five was seated 15 minutes after us, ate and left before we got to talk to you almost 15 minutes before. The other table of four did the same. "Oh, let me check into that" and walked off. Never came back. We received our food minutes later. Once we got our food, our server asked if we needed anything. Yes, the rest of our order. We got that minutes later. Did we need anything else? Not at the moment. Our food was not great, my baked sweet potato wasn't done unless you like hard baked sweet potatoes. Our server was trying to be nice and polite even though it was a rough table for her. Never saw that manager again beyond making an excuse and saying he'd check into it. Like I said, they usually get it all about right, tonight was the exception. Lots of bad, a little good. Do...
Read moreWe were traveling from Florida to Tennessee to Maine on Sunday April 28, 2024 when we developed a noise from our tow vehicle. We pulled into this Cracker Barrel at the very next exit to investigate our issue. Unable to find anything, I notice an employee from the restaurant sitting in his vehicle on break having a bite to eat. I approached him to inquire about any possible mechanics he might know. Naturally he wasn't aware of any that were opened on Sunday. But he did take time from his break to crawl under my truck to look for anything obvious but found nothing. This young man named David had gotten himself quite dirty doing what he did, but didn't mind in the least. I thanked him for his time gave him a tip and back to work he went. I went into the restaurant and met the manager on duty Carlton, and told him of my situation since we were towing a travel trailer. He told me not to worry about it and take care of matters whenever I could. I found a mechanic shop later that day, "Quick Flash" with the help of Advance Auto Parts which was close by. The shop repaired my truck on Monday morning. On Tuesday we were ready to hit the road but first went in for breakfast. Making small talk with Ruth our waitress some of our issues were mentioned. She expressed her sorry for our issues and went about her business. Next thing I know the manager on duty, Dawn greets us at our table and also expresses her sorrows and says that breakfast is on her. She also offers us to come in the restaurant to sit and wait for our vehicle to be repaired if we needed to. So far we couldn't have asked for better treatment from the employees at this restaurant. I don't want to forget Jessica who was on the early shift on one of those mornings and gave us complementary coffee's. I had to make one last visit to the rest room before leaving and I meet up with Dawn on the front porch of the restaurant. She was rushing out to catch us before we left to give us a voucher for a complimentary entrée to any Cracker Barrel restaurant in our travels.
What a fantastic couple days of service we received from this Cracker Barrel in Adairsville, Georgia.
So, if your ever near don't hesitate to stop in.
Special thanks to all from Mary &...
Read moreIn the past I've given great reviews with this specific team and management. I love to share positive feedback because people don't hear it enough. However, this past experience with the disrespect from a female manager, has lost me as a customer. I'll never come back here. I had a messed up to-go order (again) but no big deal, I get it, these things happen (we're human). And instead of just correcting the order and a brief apology for the experience. The manager insulted me because I did not order correctly (in her mind). When I called, I did not know the name but I just wanted bacon, eggs and plain hashbrowns with cheese in the hashbrowns (I always clarify no onions and not a casserole hashbrown because onions have been added before). I received bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and cheese with onions and tomatoes tossed together in a bowl dish. (Is that not a casserole?) Misunderstandings happen, I get it. I wasn't even upset, I was willing to drive 10mins back to get the correct order, but the female manager on the phone said that it was my fault I did not order correctly and request a "plate." I said I was not aware they had a bowl version and that to me what I ordered seem simple and straightforward. The manager then said well the waitress assumed you meant the bowl. I replied that I did not mention anything about wanting onions and tomatoes so you're right, you assumed. (With onions and tomatos put in my order still made the order wrong - plate or bowl). This female manager and I have had friendly chats in person when I bought nice jewelry, but the way she was to me over the phone and not in person, revealed her true character. As a female business owner, I suggest Cracker Barrel listen to the phone conversation (if possible) and offer re-training to management to minimize this kind of experience to current and future customers. I don't mind accepting responsibility for not knowing the name of what I wanted to order at the time (I have corrected on my end - Build Your Own Breakfast) but being talked down to was disrespectful and I do not tolerate that. I'll drive...
