This hotel was very mid or mediocre. The lobby is very nice and remodeled but the rooms were old and below my expectations. I stayed here with my partner for 4 days and upon our arrival everything seemed fine until we pulled back the sheets and noticed multiple hairs. My partner went to the front desk and asked for some new sheets and they said they would send someone up to remake the bed. After 2 hours no one came and we had to go to the front desk and ask once again. The bathroom was in a odd set up with only the toilet and shower in the tiled bathroom space while the sink was outside the bathroom with the carpeted space. The shower was an older tub shower combo with a shower curtain and the shower head was sagging. The AC was difficult to deal with and would constantly stop even when not set on “auto”, it was also extremely loud during the entire stay. We also noticed bugs when we were headed to bed, we didn't expect to see much bugs while on on the 6th floor but we did noticed a bug in the corner above the closet. (Shown in the picture) I waited and watched the bug and noticed another bug appear, I went to kill one of the bugs and noticed it was a spider as the 1st bug flew away. I can understand the flying bug due to it being summer and it could have flew in with us, but the spider I figure came from the cobwebs/ spiderwebs by the floor AC unit. After the 1st night we weren’t bothered by anymore bugs to our knowledge. The staff were nice and accommodating and breakfast was good. The staff did have many POC which was comforting to my partner and I, especially while being in a small foreign town, it is important to have people around us that look like us, which also helps us feel more at home. The nearby location or walking distance location isn’t filled with much but about a 7-8 minute drive down the road there is the downtown area with many places to eat and shop. There were Walmarts and Targets nearby which was helpful when needing to by water or items we might have forgot. Our main reason for staying here was the location and access to the Elmhurst train station that took us to Chicago. The location and affordability was the best part of our stay. If you are looking for a more updated hotel I recommend you look elsewhere.

Man was this place awful they shouldn't even be able to call themselves a hotel it was more of a motel. First off, they were at 30% capacity and I know that because I heard the representative over the phone. we checked in and got our room key went upstairs and saw that we have been put right next to the elevator we went back downstairs and requested a new room that was away from the ice machine and also the elevator since I am a light sleeper.... Why would you put people next to the elevator when you're at 30% capacity.... we then got our new room went upstairs put away our stuff and after going into the bathroom I noticed that there was mold all over the shower and both the shower drain and sink drain were not draining properly in the water would just sit there. we also ordered takeout and put our leftovers in the fridge hoping to eat them the next day. However, when we woke up the next day, we realized the fridge wasn't working. I was very upset and couldn't sleep that night because the heat was also not working and I was freezing so I got up at 4 explained my whole situation to the front desk associate who then gave me another new room. This was seemed nicer at first and even had a table inside but to my dismay I then noticed there was water damage throughout the ceilings, mold in the shower, and the bottom of the shower was stained with dirt. The door also had a giant chunk out of it along with a used washcloth in there too. This place was nasty. I requested a refund and wanted to go stay somewhere else but was told they can't give me my money back because we booked online through another site.... What a joke. The best part was the covid breakfast which was the saddest I've seen during this pandemic compared to other hotels.... It was a chewy granola bar, bottled tap water, a juice cup, a muffin, and an apple.... The coffee was disgusting too. We've stayed at some really nice and clean hotels during this pandemic and have been really impressed by how they're sanitizing and managing breakfast service. This was by far the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in.... Steer clear...

Thanks to my Google Maps GPS, I was able to navigate my way through the suburbs and find my way right to the hotel even though I am quite Unfamiliar with the area. The room was a unique layout that I have never seen before in any of the hotels I have stayed at. I didn't need a separate seating area, or a separate kitchenette area, but I'm sure if you traveled with a family a little separation would have been appreciated. it did seem a little dated, like the rooms might not have changed over the past decade or so. But that is simply my opinion. The bed was comfortable, and the four and a half pillows on it we're very nice. The shower was another story, I took a shower 4 separate times during my stay, and the water never got hot at all. turned all the way towards hot it was only lukewarm. And I love a good hot shower. The other thing that gave me pause, was the tub itself. The tub floor.... it all angled in, I'm sure it was supposed to help with drainage, but it made me feel like I was standing on a hill while trying to wash my hair... and I did not like that. I was slightly disappointed in the "hot breakfast". My first day there I made sure to get down early as to avoid a crowd. You could make your own waffles, and the only other things that I saw that we're "hot" were oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and some kind of spiced potato. I originally opted for the scrambled eggs, but they were not good, so then I opted for a bagel that I toasted myself. Bonus points for having orange juice that came from a dispenser, and not just cartons in a fridge. the only other incident that I ran into during my stay, was the key card. I had to go back down to the desk when it would not let me back into my room. I waited politely while the lady behind the desk waited on another customer, I did not want to make a scene, I just wanted my card recharged so I could get back into my room. I interacted with Hotel staff about 5 times during my stay, and each time they were exceptionally polite and always smiled at me. That goes a long way in my book.

Hi my stay was terrible I got physically ill in the middle of the night! Got up to figure why out why I felt so I’ll! The room smelled of mold. Of course I check the air conditioning because it’s what would be forcing air around the room only to find large mold spore in the venting system! I have pics to prove this! I get dressed quickly to check out! When I got down to the lobby I informed the front desk attendant of the smell and asked him when was the last time you had your venting system cleaned?” He clearly stated “Oh I have no Idea” I then proceeded to tel him I’m physically ill and this is what I found in you venting system I believe it’s the cause of my all of a sudden illness! He apologized clearly not wearing a mask which is required by law indoors! Then stated” that his manager wasn’t in and he’d leave a message for her about the incident because I did ask for a refund. I got my price of of price line and I spoke to a representative about checking out and the reason for checking out! She the placed me on hold and called the hotel to verify the incident! She was able to talk to the person that was at the front desk at that time and told me after speaking with a manager I should be able to get my refund! Only for price line to have over 10 phone calls to try to contact a manager only to numerous amount of failures. I call price line after 3 days in which they said I would get a return only to be told they were not able to get in contact with the manager at the hotel! Then once again I was placed on hold in order for the price line representative to try to reach out to the manager again this time was successful! However the manager now Denys any incident of my stay and is refusing to refund my money because sh has no proof of this incident! The manager name is Jackie I believe he talked with! I can’t believe these people are trying to cover up such sickening things like this and they wonder why so many people get sick or this said coronavirus will never disappear, because these corporations don’t care about you or your well-being just your money! I’ve had it and I’m exposing bogus corporations all 2020! SpringHill Suites Marriot should be be shutdown before others are sickened by this...

For customers with disabilities, traveling is a process that is physically grueling and requires detailed preparation. Accordingly, I try to plan out as much as possible, and leave little to chance. As a person with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, I find this workflow for me. I use a power wheelchair and can only travel with the assistance of 24-hour help. My planning always relates to my needs, and the well-being of my support workers.

Over the years, I have learned the hard way not to use any of the various online booking services, which is why I called Marriott directly to book a room. After asking multiple questions I learned that the Springhill Suites in Elmhurst Illinois had the type of accommodation I needed and I booked a room for a week long stay, providing a credit card to secure my reservation and guarantee payment. Upon getting off the phone with the reservation agent, I received an email confirming my reservation. Specifically, I requested and reserved a roll in shower which the Elmhurst Springhill Suites has on site.

About four hours prior to my arrival, I called Springhill to let them know approximately what time I would be getting there. During this telephone call, they mentioned an "accessible" room, but did not mention the "roll in" shower. Immediately I became concerned and pressed the issue, only to discover that they had not honored my reservation. The person that I was initially speaking with at Springhill was indifferent to my plight, and the remaining part of my drive from New York to Elmhurst was very stressful. I had to call Marriott headquarters multiple times. It was only when I eventually got there after 9 PM, that I received any kind of acknowledgment that the problem was completely their fault. This is the second year in a row that a Marriott property has done this to me.

Speaking to the property itself, on two separate occasions they did not clean the room or provide fresh towels. Although the situation was immediately resolved, this does not speak well of management. The previously mentioned roll in shower was not designed well and there was not enough room to get my equipment in said shower. Finally, there was a ridiculously noisy fan connected to the...
