So... running away from all the destruction in Augusta, Ga this was the closest hotel that had power and was accepting reservations. Made reservation on September 28th, and upon arrival about 30 minutes later, was told my reservation was "canceled by corporate." Not sure what that meant but I was soon to find out. I asked why was it canceled and was told "all reservations were canceled due to lineman coming to assist on all the damage from the hurricane." I said "but I literally just made the reservation on my way here. Holly stated "if I want to get an attitude she will call the police." Which I had heard her tell the man in front of me the same thing and he ended up getting a room. So, I asked "he just got a room, can my family and I get a room also?" She said "yes you can, it'll be $150 a night." Granted my preservation was only $85 for the night. I decided against staying as the hotel already had terrible reviews and after being straight lied to and threatened by the receptionist I decided this really wasn't the place I needed my family to be. I asked for a cancelation and was on my way, was given the name Peter to contact if I had issues. Since then the number that they had that night no longer works, I called another nearby Quality Inn and they gave me the "right number." Price gouging at its finest, $150 for a $60 a night hotel I found to be absurd. I also felt insulted that an establishment would do this to people in need. They stated the price rate change was because they had lineman coming in to stay but then offered me a room at almost twice my reservation rate? Really? I'd be cautious of staying here. Shame on whoever owns this place,...

No big concern, since I arrived late and wasn't looking to get a bunch of work done. The bathroom sink didn't have a drain plug in it at all, so I had to cover the drain with a washcloth to clean my contact lenses for the night. I'm not sure if it was intentional for handicapped guests, but there was very little water pressure from the shower the next morning. The one other thing was that when I arrived the A/C was not on at all, and the room was extremely hot and humid. Took about 15 minutes to enter a reasonable comfort level.
The real travesty was what the hotel advertised as a "hot breakfast" the next morning. The eggs were both cold and tasteless, and the sausages were cold. There was no microwave oven to warm anything up, including the packets of oatmeal provided (I was told later that there was hot water available on the coffee machine, but I prefer my oatmeal made with milk). There were no condiments or flavorings available for any of the "hot" items, and there was not even butter for toast/muffins. No fresh fruit of any kind, and only syrup for the waffles that you could make yourself. All in all, one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've ever experienced, and not even up to the standards of what others call a continental breakfast. When I mentioned it at checkout, the desk clerk gave me some song and dance about only putting out what the owner said was OK. Didn't even give me the impression that she'd mention my complaints about it...
