Well my first time I stayed at this hotel back in 2018 I loved it it was really nice and clean and god atmosphere and friendly staff and great customer service and Breakfast good clean rooms and didn’t have to worry about cats or dogs in or around the swimming pool or hot tub or in the Dining area, especially when people are eating and food is being served and no fleas are other bugs in the rooms are hotel and no pet Dander or for anywhere and the furniture in the rooms weren’t torn up because of them or the carpet peed on by the animals and neither was the furniture now that’s all changed the last three times I’ve stayed there in the past two years it’s been dirty nasty and bugs in the rooms and furniture and carpet and torn up furniture because of the animals and fur and dander everywhere and urine stains and urine smells on the furniture such as the beds and carpets and now apparently they let the dogs around the swimming pool area and in the pool even though there’s signs posted saying no animals in the pool area and there’s signs in the dining room area, where they serve breakfast saying no animals, but they allow them in there with their owners and allow their owners to feed them. They’re off the breakfast bar, and I’ve seen some of the owners carrying their dogs and holding them over the food on the breakfast bar. The outside of the hotel is covered in all kinds of bees nest, especially around the swimming area and inside. You have fleas bedbugs, roaches, and other flying insects, along with animal fur and dander and urine smells. mold in and around the refrigerators and microwave and bathroom, and on some of the mattresses and around the air conditioning units the last room the last time I was there six months ago, found roaches in my room and around my refrigerator and bathroom along with the flying sex this time I found fleas all over the floor, jumping up all my legs and bedbugs around the bed mattress. I also found hidden cameras in the room one in the air conditioning vent in the bathroom above the toilet, and the other one on the TV that look like a tv sensor. both of them really small ones and wireless. The staff are kind of rude and not helpful at all except for the maintenance people they’re pretty nice but they don’t do their job. Good enough cleaning. and this time and last time the pool was nasty and so is the hot tub with debris floating in it along with animal fur from where people have let their animals swim in there and dead bugs. Floating had to change my room last time, six months ago and this time because of the problem and really, They should have comped me for my stay. Another problem I noticed it seems like they let people off the streets homeless come in there and eat in the dining room as well because now both times there’s been people in there, eating that smell like garbage and look like homeless garbages and dirty and filthy clothes and skin They really need to do some work with this place and get it up-to-date as well clean these rooms and stop people from bringing their animals in and if they’re gonna allow animals in there, they should be in a crate in their room if they want to take them out for a walk take them out front or to a dog park around the area do not allow them to walk through the hotel with their animals or in the dining room And make sure they’re clean. I have been...
Read moreBooked a king suite for a Sunday thru Thursday stay for my husband to go through 4 days of testing at Shands for a liver transplant. We typically opt for a larger room if we are staying more then 1 night as we are both a bit claustrophobic and like to spread out a little. When I did my pre check in online yesterday, it asked if I wanted to upgrade to a suite. I double checked my confirmation that I had booked a suite, and I had, so I thought that was odd. Anyway, off to Gainesville we went.
The front desk gals were prompt, kind and efficient. I had asked for a shower chair during booking and again during pre registration. When we got to the hotel there was a note that a shower chair could not go to a non accessible room. As is typical, there are only 3-4 accessible rooms in any hotel. And you guessed it, non available. Once we got to the "suite" there was not a doubt as to why. It was like walking into a cave. The bathroom tub/shower area is very cramped. The toilets aren't even "comfort height" so they must be old. The sink area has little room for 2 people to put toiletries. Advertised as having a make up mirror, it doesn't. (would have brought my own) The stupid partition wall accomplishes little than to make the room feel tight, cramped, pointless, especially since both halves share the same television.
We called down to see if there was another king room that was larger. When we were told it was the largest suite in the hotel, aside from the President's suite I almost died. I was willing to spend a little more per night, but not that kind of money. The web site shows a larger room with a freestanding tub. I've no idea if the property even has one, but since it wasnt offered, who knows.
Once in and unpacked, I went to the window and saw the filth on the air system. (REALLY not cool in the age of covid) The furniture has big hunks out of it. Walls marred and scuffed. (I have photos)
I have never stayed in a BW before, and chose this property based on reviews, and the fact that there was a restaurant. Turns out the restaurant is not inside the hotel, but around the end of the property (which in our case made it a walk in the rain.) We have never used BW before, and after this, will never again. If it wasnt too much physically to move to a different hotel, I would have....
Read moreThis place was an absolute nightmare! My apartment complex manager had placed me in this hotel during some renovations. When I arrived, I told the check-in staff that I would need a luggage cart since I had my pet with me and had a lot of stuff. He made minimal effort to track one down for me. In the end, I ended up making five trips to and from my car to carry my things in. As I was checking in, he wanted me to initial that I was not bringing a pet, despite having just told him that I had my pet. He then had to change my room and reprocess my check-in.
The carpets throughout the halls and in the rooms were dirty. The bed scarf (material at the end of the bed) had blood stains on it. One of the days the housekeeping personnel didn't even bother to make the bed. They have a piece of paper that you can place on the bed to indicate to them that you do not want them to change the sheets. I made it a point to not place this on the bed since there was a stain on the sheets as well as on the bed scarf. She neglected to change the sheets during my entire stay.
My stay was extended for another night and they automatically charged my credit card instead of the apartment complex's card, which is the card that was on file for my stay. I went to the front desk to request that this was fixed and the correct card was charge. The front desk staff essentially told me that there was nothing she can do and can have the manager address it the next day. She made it a point to tell me that the manager has a 9-5 schedule.
When discussing the fact that my stay had been extended, the front desk staff failed to let me know that my keys to the building and to my room would be deactivated and I would need to get a new key since my stay was extended. I parked on the side of the building, which provided the closest access to my room. Upon getting to the door, my keys would not work and I had to walk around the building (in the rain) to discuss my deactivated keys with...
