We stayed at the Best Western Gaeway for a week. We had two children with us. We were there weekend and weekdays. Here's my honest and detailed review. The location is really nice , its tucked away and its not to busy in that area. The hotel is spacious . The decor and lobby are very nice and welcoming. The night desk man is very nice and welcoming!!! The house keeping staff ladies are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. They do have a worker who does made to order omelet. The breakfast is limited options and its the same everyday, there is also no fruit. They always have 2 staff working breakfast most are quiet and nice. The one weekday lady who seems to be the main lady has little patience and a temper. She was told about a waffle batter spill and yelled and became very unwelcoming to eveeyone !! She made us feel very uncomfortable and afraid to ask any questions. The outdoor area is very nice, lots of seating, sun, shade. The hotter is hot! The pool is heated perfectly. The fencing around the area could use a good pressure washing but otherwise its beautiful. The fitness center location is a little odd especially for a female alone working out at night but the equipment is pretty standard and in working order. The rooms- they're clean, they lack a good deep cleaning. The sinks etc have hard water and soap scum all over but otherwise its clean and a pretty standard room. Some fridges have a small frezer and some dont. The rooms are somewhat outdated but they get the job done. Beds are pretty hard.

While this hotel was once a beautiful place . Sadly they have let maintenance go and simply do not care. You can see the once grand touches they have not been taken care of but the real issue is they simply know about health and safety issues and they simply do not care enough to resolve even the simplest ones. My wife took a shower when we checked in at 11 pm and the water did not drain from the tub , so I figured old pipes give it a few minutes and it will go down. Nothing. The next morning 7 or 8 hours later the tub was still under water. (See pic below) now there is no way this was the first time and any cleaning Person would have seen it multiple times and reported it. They did not fix it. For it to be there the next morning means this is an issue building with clogged water pipes for probably years and hotel management they simply doesn’t care about a basic safety and health issue like this. Dirty sheets as well as just a general lack of cleanliness in this establishment. I spoke to a friend of mine who grew up near this hotel and she always knew it as an upscale establishment and was surprised and sad to hear the current owners let it go. Funny thing is that I raised it to hotel management and their response was “ sorry it didn’t meet your expectations hope you will give us another Chance “ it’s sad when people don’t care or take pride.

I just want to start off by saying how great the staff is here. Juan, Wayne, and Kai helped us out the last time we stayed here, and they were Awesome!! Even the cleaning staff I interacted with was great (I wish I could remember her name). To feel like people enjoy their jobs and truly care about how the customer feels is refreshing. Another thing I want to point out is customer service is not rated just on the things that went right or good, but how the representative deals with something that went wrong or not as exactly planned. The staff here has always stepped up when there was a hiccup, and they did it with a smile and made sure to exceed any expectations I had to begin with. I've had the pleasure of being in different rooms here and they were better than expected. The rooms here are always nice, clean and presentable. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are great (and I'm a pillow guy more so than a mattress guy, so that's saying something). The breakfast here is my favorite out of any hotel I've been at here in the U.S. over the last 4 years. I'm not a huge pool person, but the Hottub hit the spot. All-in-all, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone in the area looking for a reasonably priced hotel with great amenities.

Well my first time I stayed at this hotel back in 2018 I loved it it was really nice and clean and god atmosphere and friendly staff and great customer service and Breakfast good clean rooms and didn’t have to worry about cats or dogs in or around the swimming pool or hot tub or in the Dining area, especially when people are eating and food is being served and no fleas are other bugs in the rooms are hotel and no pet Dander or for anywhere and the furniture in the rooms weren’t torn up because of them or the carpet peed on by the animals and neither was the furniture now that’s all changed the last three times I’ve stayed there in the past two years it’s been dirty nasty and bugs in the rooms and furniture and carpet and torn up furniture because of the animals and fur and dander everywhere and urine stains and urine smells on the furniture such as the beds and carpets and now apparently they let the dogs around the swimming pool area and in the pool even though there’s signs posted saying no animals in the pool area and there’s signs in the dining room area, where they serve breakfast saying no animals, but they allow them in there with their owners and allow their owners to feed them. They’re off the breakfast bar, and I’ve seen some of the owners carrying their dogs and holding them over the food on the breakfast bar. The outside of the hotel is covered in all kinds of bees nest, especially around the swimming area and inside. You have fleas bedbugs, roaches, and other flying insects, along with animal fur and dander and urine smells. mold in and around the refrigerators and microwave and bathroom, and on some of the mattresses and around the air conditioning units the last room the last time I was there six months ago, found roaches in my room and around my refrigerator and bathroom along with the flying sex this time I found fleas all over the floor, jumping up all my legs and bedbugs around the bed mattress. I also found hidden cameras in the room one in the air conditioning vent in the bathroom above the toilet, and the other one on the TV that look like a tv sensor. both of them really small ones and wireless. The staff are kind of rude and not helpful at all except for the maintenance people they’re pretty nice but they don’t do their job. Good enough cleaning. and this time and last time the pool was nasty and so is the hot tub with debris floating in it along with animal fur from where people have let their animals swim in there and dead bugs. Floating had to change my room last time, six months ago and this time because of the problem and really, They should have comped me for my stay. Another problem I noticed it seems like they let people off the streets homeless come in there and eat in the dining room as well because now both times there’s been people in there, eating that smell like garbage and look like homeless garbages and dirty and filthy clothes and skin They really need to do some work with this place and get it up-to-date as well clean these rooms and stop people from bringing their animals in and if they’re gonna allow animals in there, they should be in a crate in their room if they want to take them out for a walk take them out front or to a dog park around the area do not allow them to walk through the hotel with their animals or in the dining room And make sure they’re clean. I have been...

Booked a king suite for a Sunday thru Thursday stay for my husband to go through 4 days of testing at Shands for a liver transplant. We typically opt for a larger room if we are staying more then 1 night as we are both a bit claustrophobic and like to spread out a little. When I did my pre check in online yesterday, it asked if I wanted to upgrade to a suite. I double checked my confirmation that I had booked a suite, and I had, so I thought that was odd. Anyway, off to Gainesville we went.

The front desk gals were prompt, kind and efficient. I had asked for a shower chair during booking and again during pre registration. When we got to the hotel there was a note that a shower chair could not go to a non accessible room. As is typical, there are only 3-4 accessible rooms in any hotel. And you guessed it, non available. Once we got to the "suite" there was not a doubt as to why. It was like walking into a cave. The bathroom tub/shower area is very cramped. The toilets aren't even "comfort height" so they must be old. The sink area has little room for 2 people to put toiletries. Advertised as having a make up mirror, it doesn't. (would have brought my own) The stupid partition wall accomplishes little than to make the room feel tight, cramped, pointless, especially since both halves share the same television.

We called down to see if there was another king room that was larger. When we were told it was the largest suite in the hotel, aside from the President's suite I almost died. I was willing to spend a little more per night, but not that kind of money. The web site shows a larger room with a freestanding tub. I've no idea if the property even has one, but since it wasnt offered, who knows.

Once in and unpacked, I went to the window and saw the filth on the air system. (REALLY not cool in the age of covid) The furniture has big hunks out of it. Walls marred and scuffed. (I have photos)

I have never stayed in a BW before, and chose this property based on reviews, and the fact that there was a restaurant. Turns out the restaurant is not inside the hotel, but around the end of the property (which in our case made it a walk in the rain.) We have never used BW before, and after this, will never again. If it wasnt too much physically to move to a different hotel, I would have....

This place was an absolute nightmare! My apartment complex manager had placed me in this hotel during some renovations. When I arrived, I told the check-in staff that I would need a luggage cart since I had my pet with me and had a lot of stuff. He made minimal effort to track one down for me. In the end, I ended up making five trips to and from my car to carry my things in. As I was checking in, he wanted me to initial that I was not bringing a pet, despite having just told him that I had my pet. He then had to change my room and reprocess my check-in.

The carpets throughout the halls and in the rooms were dirty. The bed scarf (material at the end of the bed) had blood stains on it. One of the days the housekeeping personnel didn't even bother to make the bed. They have a piece of paper that you can place on the bed to indicate to them that you do not want them to change the sheets. I made it a point to not place this on the bed since there was a stain on the sheets as well as on the bed scarf. She neglected to change the sheets during my entire stay.

My stay was extended for another night and they automatically charged my credit card instead of the apartment complex's card, which is the card that was on file for my stay. I went to the front desk to request that this was fixed and the correct card was charge. The front desk staff essentially told me that there was nothing she can do and can have the manager address it the next day. She made it a point to tell me that the manager has a 9-5 schedule.

When discussing the fact that my stay had been extended, the front desk staff failed to let me know that my keys to the building and to my room would be deactivated and I would need to get a new key since my stay was extended. I parked on the side of the building, which provided the closest access to my room. Upon getting to the door, my keys would not work and I had to walk around the building (in the rain) to discuss my deactivated keys with...
