Arguably the least representative example of the Dairy Queen brand. Went last week for the first and last time.
Our visit to this location was at approximately between the 4 and 5 o’clock hour and there were no cars in line before or after me while at the drive through.
At the speaker/menu, the drive through employee was practically inaudible, inattentive, cold, and lacked any hint of helpfulness when asking about the menu. Upon arrival at the window, the experience with the same employee continued in a disappointing experience.
The serving sizes were significantly smaller than other local locations and the prices were higher. The cheese curds and tenders we ordered were over cooked and the curds all had parts that were burnt.
The view through the pick up window reflected the same “picture” of the establishment as delivered by the employee working the window. It was disorderly, messy, and dreary in appearance.
I did ask to speak to the employee’s manager and when she came to the window, I only expressed our experience from order-taking to paying, to receiving the order and having to ask for the correct dipping sauce that we’d already requested at the speaker. The manager’s response was exactly as follows (spoken in a monotone manner,) “Oh. Okay.”
My response back to the manager was, “That’s all? I don’t want anything from you except an acknowledgment of our experience here. I am not asking for anything else. I thought it would be important for you to know how cold, unwelcoming, and uncaring your representative at the drive through is coming across. That’s all you want to say to me?”
The manager’s answer was only “Yes.” I responded with “Okay,” and left. I understand from reading the reviews that this location is a franchise. That being said, I would request that Dairy Queen corporate look into this location, as it is not representative of their brand and from what I see, a negative reflection of the Dairy Queen name.
Having lived in Central Florida for many years prior and being a matter of minutes away from one of the finest Grill and Chill locations in the history of the brand (St. Cloud, Fl,) this experience was deeply disappointing.
I cannot recommend this location at all and urge anyone considering visiting this location to make a purchase to choose another option until the climate of this location changes and the quality of the product is held to a higher standard.
Lastly, when I offered the incorrect dipping sauce back to the employee that had been placed in our bag, they received it back from me.
To my understanding, this is not something that is allowed. This led my confidence in the quality of food handling and safety to be lowered significantly.
Edited to add that I have already reached out to Dairy Queen Corporate on their website and have related this experience to them as well as expressed...
Read moreSo much potential...but oh-so disappointing. The location is ideal for this iconic ice-cream franchise to thrive, perfect for travelers, and somewhat close to Santa Fe College to satisfy student's sweet tooth cravings. Although this location shares space with a shell gas station, there is plenty of room for parking and there is an around-the-building drive through for no time to stop cliental. Navigation from I-75 is easy for north and south bound travelers, although this might not be ideal for tractor trailers.
On our visit we had three ice-creams and a malt and the total was just about thirty dollars. We did request extra toppings on on our ice-creams. There were no other customers inside or at the drive-thru, our wait time was seven minutes...not bad just below par in my opinion. Our ice-creams however were not good. The food quality was on par, however a large part of what makes a "Blizzard" a "Blizzard" are the toppings and the combination of toppings....our "Blizzards" were 90% ice-cream with no toppings. This is our second visit to this location over the past twelve months and both visits have been the same. Workers skimping on toppings, or missing all together. The atmosphere along with the food feel like this location is being run lean in effort to save on owner expenses...this in turn has created a sag in customer experience. Okay for travelers who will likely never re-visit, but not so much for local patron.
Based on our experience...both in the past twelve months, we will not be giving the location the opportunity for a third strike and will not be re-visiting. Possibly when there is...
Read moreThis DQ is connected to a gas station. Both the gas station and DQ are very sketchy and run-down. The service was awful. We were the only ones in the store, and there was no one in the drive-thru. We stood at the counter waiting for someone to take our order for a solid minute and a half. The man who took my daughters order didn't say anything except "Is that all?" And the total. He didn't greet us, he didn't offer us a receipt, he didn't say anything after the order was taken, he just walked off He walked off when my daughter put her card in the machine and went to the back and started cooking. It took another 4 minutes to get the blizzard, and then we stood at the counter for another 4 minutes for someone to ask us what we were waiting for, we had told her that we ordered fries and a blizzard and needed the fries still. She said, "Oh, ok, he is working on the fries right now." We thought she was right because he was I the kitchen cooking something. After another 3 minutes, 2 ladies went back to the kitchen and were talking to the man who took our order and finally came back out to the front counter and said there was no order for fries and asked of we would like to order some. We declined and left. This whole ordeal took nearly 15 min when any other DQ we have been to would have been at the most 5 minutes (I keep track of time constantly and count constantly). The blizzard was supposed to be a reeces cup, but it was mostly vanilla, with very little p.butter cups, and was not turned upside down like...
