Do not stay here. Do not stay here. Do not stay here. This place has bed bugs. BED BUGS!!! BED BUGS!!! BED BUGS!!! COCKROACHES. MICE. I WILL DEMAND MY MONEY BACK IN THE MORNING. When you go to a motel away from your home you believe you will be safe and secure. Not here .loud neighbors rude staff and no security. I live in the bush with bears and wolves I'm safer there then here.. people I suggest that you save your money and go somewhere else. I only came here because of the wet snow storm I got stuck in I can't believe this is acceptable. The city should remove the license for this to be a motel and the building condemned after being treated so they don't spread to neighbors and other business. When you stay here and get eaten alive when they know they have a problem is criminal. It like going to the bank and paying for them to rob you. Why is this allowed and tolerated. When you are lied to about security it is criminal and they should be closed and another company who cares and provides better safe and sanitary service should be allowed. The city should condemn this motel. To think that because I was bitten by the bed bug adults and that they can lay upto 1000 eggs a day each one can do that. I can't figure out how to add a picture to this review of these conditions. Even the electrical panel on the wall is old burnt to the point of the plastic melted. I do electrical work for a living and this is very unsafe in every way. Really the city should condemn this building before it causes someone thier life. How have we stepped back in the barbaric heathen days, to where this is acceptable. I say this place doesn't deserve any star rating 0 is mine, but I can't leave one the site won't allow it. SAY AWAY FROM HERE ITS BAD BEYOND WORDS DESCRIPTION. Really the city should condemn this business. I wonder how much they pay to bribe the inspectors in anchorage city hall. Upon looking at the previous reviews there is no way this...
Read moreAfter a long (5,000+ miles), difficult move to Alaska we checked in at the monthly rate while doing job interviews and trying to find a more permanent place to live. We were both students and the move literally drained us to our last dime otherwise we would have never stayed here. It's every bit as dirty as the other reviews claim and then some. There were dozens of flies in the room, it had a horrible smell, the windows were painted closed, there was grime on every surface (including some kind of mystery oil on the ultra-classy mirror headboard that took almost an hour to clean off), the floors and carpets were actually sticky to the touch, the towels had mystery stains on them, and there was food in the refrigerator when we moved our belongings in. After that we opted to do our own housekeeping. "Neighbors" frequently left their doors and windows open so that all of their shouting could be heard even from the parking lot. Woke up one morning at 7:30 to the sounds of screaming and plates breaking from across the hall (through our closed door). To top it off the "security" in the parking lot still allowed some of our property outside to get damaged. Avoid at all costs. It's not even in a good neighborhood.||And if you're moving to Anchorage my advice would be arrange a place before you arrive. In hind sight it would have been worth the extra money to fly up early, because most places require applications, background checks, and board reviews, and those that don't rarely return calls when people respond...
Read moreThe Mush Inn doesn't have a great reputation, due in part to the infamous pest problem that has plagued this place for years and the fact that it's been known as a kind of last-ditch-gutter-one-night-stand spot for as long. But really, it's home to some good people -some down on their luck, others here to maybe save a few bucks- but all decent folks just tryin to get by in a town with a housing shortage and notoriously high rent averages. So...places like these fill a certain need. As for the pests, well I would guess that their entrenchment remains unconquered simply because of the sour-faced owner's unwillingness to improve the property- possibly out of a lack of business acumen- but the buildings almost certainly would need to be leveled anyway, and that wouldn't bode well for the people hanging on here. But hey, these old places are all fading away fast...stop on in and getcha a little rest in one of the last true roach motels left in town! *Disclaimer- I have not yet personaly had the pleasure of experiencing the hospitality of an overnight stay at the Mush Inn (unless you count sleeping in my vehicle while parked in the lot, which earned me the scornful derision of the aforementioned owner- the always pleasant...
