Beautiful, quiet campground. Each site has a plastic dipped metal picnic table, a fire ring, and a parking pad. The ground is packed gravel and tree needles, so not much chance of mud. Our site, #23, has space for 3 tents. There are no hookups and just pit toilets, but the pit toilets are the nicest I've come across. Enclosed in a nice modern building, and they don't smell. The campground host lights a scented candle inside the toilet building at night. The road through the campground and leading to it has many rills and washouts, so drive slowly. Each is marked by orange cones to give you a heads up. I personally would not want to drive a camper through here, or try to park it at a site, but we saw several smaller campers and camper trailers here. Beautiful scenery! FYI- you might not want to pitch your tent under trees that have pinecone bits underneath where squirrels have been eating. You might get woken up earlier than you want by pinecones being dropped on your tent! Cute little...

Stopping in to leave a review for the management of the campground. I went up to hike the trail to Cecret Lake (yes it's spelt that way for whatever reason). The parking lot is right next to camping ground and is very busy. The day I went up, parking was being controlled to only let one car in after a car left. After my car waited our turn and payed, we got to the parking lot to find people standing in parking spots saving places for their acquaintance's car further down the canyon. After telling them through our window that this defeated the purpose of metering the parking, they still didn't move. I went and informed camp management since they were close by, and the lady in charge quickly diffused the situation and assisted us in finding a place to park. She was so helpful! I would definitely give this campsite a shot knowing that management is so...

Wonderful day in the outdoors. We went up to the campground and visited some family members who stayed up here the last few days. It was around 56° when we started but sunny and welcoming. The smokey skies that have been so smothering in the valley were much more open and its beautiful up here. It is quite popular and we were glad we came a bit early on a Sunday morning.( 9:15 a.m. arrival time) We loved our hike up to Cecret Lake. About 1 mile each way and it was the type of hike we love. It was challenging yet very doable even at middle age. These hikes to mountain lakes are always worth the time and effort. We encourage others to take the trip up there.( there is a fee station just as you pass the...

This was a beautiful hike, not too hard, a bit steep in some spots, but still really nice. Going in August, you don't have as many flowers out, early summer there are more flowers and it's really colorful which makes for an enjoyable hike. The lake was beautiful as well, great view from both above looking down at it and when you go down and hike around it.

Absolutely beautiful place for portraits! End of July-Early August is typically when the flowers are in full bloom. Don't forget the bug spray!
