We stayed at the Quality Inn in Fremont Indiana Friday night May 21st. Check in went smoothly, the night clerk was great! In fact, all of the staff was fantastic! And I commend each and everyone of you. I feel like that is where the good news ends. My boys were particularly looking forward to swimming. Which they did because the pool is open. The entire Hotel, however is extremely dated and it's a severe facelift. Especially the pool. I laid down and tried to go to sleep about 9:30. The walls are paper-thin and there are gaps under the doors which allow a great deal of noise through. I tossed and turned on the hard springy mattress all night long. In between the tossing and turning I was awakened by children running down the hallway and doors slamming. 12:30 there was a lot of commotion in the hallway. Definitely several adult voices talking without trying to be really quiet. So I opened my door to complain that they needed to take their business elsewhere when I discovered it was three Hotel employees trying to get a woman who had absolutely nothing on from the waist down into her room. Obviously this is not the hotel's fault that Inebriated guest wandered onto the wrong floor. At 5am I was awakened by an alarm clock, apparently, that sounded much like a smoke alarm. It came from a room beside me I suppose. And I was not able to go to sleep after that. Because I only got about two hours a very unsteady sleep that is why I'm giving this hotel a core review. This is not the staff's Fault by any means. They did everything they possibly could. Quality Inn step up your game! When breakfast was put out it was very sparse, I'm sure that has a lot to do with covid. Although they did have a fantastic...
Read moreEnjoyed a 2 night stay in a nice, big room with a very comfortable king size bed. Large clean bathroom had a tall shower head and good hot water pressure. Clean fresh room, hallways and common areas were relatively clean and nice. Hotel was booked solid one night, but it was quiet. Microwave, nice tv, fridge, and personal coffee maker all really nice. Only thing that concerned me was the color of the pool water, it just didn't look clean and clear, and was just not very inviting, so we didn't swim. I don't know if it was the water itself or the color of the pool walls, but it was just yucky looking. Lots of exterior doors around the building, stairwells on both ends and elevator in the middle makes easy access through the entire hotel no matter where you park. Saw lots of vehicles with trailers around the edges of the parking lots. Not the easiest layout for haulers, but doable. Easy check-in. Breakfast was really nice, one of the staff made me a chocolate chip waffle! Also had fresh biscuits and gravy as well as the usual continental items. Much better than the mystery grab bag. Good hot coffee. Very pleased with our stay. Stayed again in Feb 22, another great stay. Somehow ended up with handicapped accomodating room, and the disappointment was there is no counter in bathroom. Anywhere. I understand need for a wheelchair to access the sink, but I'm sure everyone appreciates somewhere to put toothbrushes and other items besides the floor. No microwave either. Great stay otherwise, but I forgot they don't have a hot tub and wish they did! Great breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and that same wonderful guy that makes the...
Read moreTruck driver here, tired from long days and disappointed because of an unexpected loss of my truck home (breakdown and major repair), but I was treated like a queen from the time I walked through the doors of the Fremont Quality Inn until I left.
The staff was obviously understaffed, but they did not make me feel as if I were an annoying intruder. Dani and Trish, on the front desk (in addition to other duties), and an older gentleman whose name I did not get, were warm and friendly, with appropriately humorous remarks and accommodating manners.
They gave me a room near the front desk, and the room was spacious and clean. (Thank you, Autumn!) The bed felt like an unscented freshly laundered heaven! The room's TV set was large, like a movie screen. (Had to eventually turn it off, though, because the programming became too thick for my moral tastes. But, still, the set was nice, and the remote worked.)
The staff gave me little unexpected amenities that went a long way in making my stay comfortable and making me feel like a special and valuable customer. The guest laundry room was quiet and neat, the appliances clean.
Highly recommend!
The only problem with the location is no taxi or ride share, and an unavailable hotel shuttle. The only food delivery was a pizza joint and Chinese restaurant. I didn't want pizza, and the Chinese place gave friendly phone and face-to-face service, and heaping helpings of the entree and fresh vegetables, but the food was not spiced the way my Southern palate has become accustomed to having Asian cuisine taste.
But still, the hotel itself was a pleasant...
