We really enjoyed our one-night stay here in a king room. The view of the river from our room was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and supportive. There were covered foam wedges in place of a headboard, so no loud banging from neighboring rooms. In fact, this hotel is really quiet in general. The parking lot was pretty full, so there must've been plenty of other people there, but we didn't hear a peep from rooms near ours or from the hallway. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was a nice touch. Lots of space for toiletries on the counter and in the shower. The walk-in shower with drain tray at one end was a good size with a few different spray options on the shower head. The closet door was mirrored on the inside and outside, which would be very handy if multiple people are getting ready at the same time. The couch was comfortable with the angled back and ottoman. The lobby was a good size with lots of hangout space. There was a key scanner and doorbell to enter the hotel lobby late at night, which was a nice added security feature. There were only a few negatives here, in the room. The mini-fridge is smaller than others we've used. We had two quart-sized water bottles and two 20 oz. soda bottles in there and there wasn't much room left. The bathroom faucet actually made me laugh... It was installed in a way that the arm just barely comes over the sink. It was awkward to wash my hands and I splashed the counter even when I tried to avoid it. The faucet worked and it was nice, but it was not a great choice for this bathroom. My biggest negative was the TV. It is installed above the desk on the wall next to the bed. Unfortunately, it is stationary, with no adjustable arm, so watching it from the bed is not ideal when you want natural light from the window. The glare from the window combined with the awkward viewing angle was a little annoying. However, none of the negatives I mention would prevent me from staying there again. I would absolutely go back. I like booking a room with as much information as possible, so I try to put as much out there as I can for others...

Read moreI worked for 8 months in Appleton and stayed here multiple times. The hotel is very new with nice updated experience. It is situated right on the Fox River and has a patio and fire outside facing the river. Many rooms also face the river and have a balcony.
As a Marriott Titanium member, I frequently received upgrades to balcony rooms. There are no suites in this hotel. I used my check in perk to get food and beverage credits. This is a $10 credit towards food or beverages including alcohol. The hotel staff consistently charged these as a "room charge" instead of a credit towards the food or drinks I was purchasing. I had to call and have them adjust my bill after almost every stay. Please train your staff on how to properly accept these credits.
I tried many of the food and beverage options. I found the food to be ok but nothing special. Additionally, I found the food to be overpriced. As a hotel, there will be a slight up charge but I thought it was more than necessary. After a while, due to the price and perceived quality of the food, I generally opted to not eat at the hotel. The bartender did make some good cocktails and that is where I used the majority of my credits.
The fitness area is a pretty typical hotel fitness center. There were treadmills, elliptical machines, dumbbells going up to 50 lbs and 2 benches. There was no barbell or machine to do barbell exercises such as a smith machine or squat rack. Towels and water were available in the fitness area.
There is currently construction around the hotel to add some shops and commercial space. There is a Mr Brews and Coffee shop nearby currently.
All in all, the hotel is a nice Marriott close to downtown Appleton. It is new and looks nice. I would recommend this hotel for a stay...
