Tempest offers delicious coffee brewed by highly skilled baristas, a rotating menu rich with locally sourced ingredients, and a relaxed modern environment where everyone is welcome to express themselves.
Espresso, when prepared the right way, can transform any boring workday into a fantastically productive workday- every visit to Tempest has helped to produce some of my very best work. If you’ve never had a coffee that makes you do a little happy dance in your seat, I highly suggest you stop at Tempest to find out how happy dance-worthy coffee tastes.
The menu rotates seasonally, allowing for the freshest and best tasting local produce to shine. There are options for nearly all dietary restrictions. Gluten free, Vegan, as well as selective GFV. All in-house bakery is vegan. They use a high quality sourdough that some gluten-sensitive folks, like myself, are able to enjoy.
There’s ample parking nearby, As a regular, I highly suggest, parking in the first lot on the left or right rather than hoping for a spot down the hill and having to do a five-point turn-around.
The interior is modern and clean, with local art featured year-round. It can get a bit loud at peak hours but, off hours are wonderful for reading or simply enjoying the beautiful view of the river. Outdoor seating is available when weather permits.
Whether eating inside or outside, please note, there are two dish return bins on either end of the bar.
No matter the time of day or time of week, you can expect to have an amazing...
Read moreMy daughter and I went here on Mother's Day. For being Mother's Day, I didn't feel it was that crowded, plenty of seating space inside and out. We were told it would be 45 minutes to get our food. We didn't want to wait that long so decided on a Latte. That took about 20 minutes. There was only one person making the Lattes and she either seemed stressed or she didn't want to be there. I don't want to assume, but that's what it seemed to me. To be fair, I've seen the reviews and decide to take the chance because we walked the trail. It's a great place to go, you can't beat the view. I saw what people were eating and it looked yummy and seemed like decent portions. I'll most likely go back when I don't have any other place to be and can take my time. Not sure what the problem is. I have a favorite coffee shop I go to in Neenah where I live. Very popular and they too can get very busy, however, you never have to wait that long for food or drink. I understand that the menu is quite different and takes longer to prepare, but there were people waiting outside that were there when we arrived and were still waiting when we...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Tempest, and it certainly won't be my last. Approaching from the road, it isn't terribly easy to see, and it looks like it might be in a cramped, dark space. It couldn't be farther from the truth! The space is cozy, yet never claustrophobic. You walk in, and are immediately greeted with handsome, trendy, and calmly muted decorations. The bar itself is beautiful, and a great place for coffee photography, if that's your thing. They offer the traditional scrummy pastries and such, but they also offer a breakfast and lunch menu that is refreshingly different and very health-conscious. It was hard to choose, but I ended up trying the quinoa salad bowl, which was amazing. It's one of the best places in the area for good health food. In addition to the menu, they offer a full espressos drink selection, each drink handcrafted. For a trendier place, I was surprised at how kid-friendly it was. The general atmosphere from staff and customers was very welcoming towards the two toddlers I had with me. There were even toys for them, which helped lengthen the trip for me. All in all, a...
