We had an amazing 3-day Dad's/Kiddo's snow & ski camp weekend retreat (our 2nd annual, so far!), under the masterful volunteer hosting of Chuck & Matthew. 12 Dads, 13 kiddos ranging from age 8 to 14 (while sharing the Lodge 50% with the SpringStreet charter High School trip.) SO much fun... the younger kids had non-stop hide & seek 'tag' run of the 3 floors, and build snow castles & tunnel systems alongside the Lodge, while the F3 teens, and SpringStreet teens, built tobogganning and ski-jump tracks on the slopes just under the Lodge.

Everyone got more than enough ski and snowboard time from Friday afternoon, through Sunday, at the Mount Baker Ski area.

Grub was 'Lodge 1st class' and plentiful for everyone. Everyone in our group is already chattering...

A 5 Star destination for real hikers and backpackers. Super clean and well managed. Run and maintained by volunteers, the meals are continually varied and portion size can satisfy any hungry hiker at the end of the day.

Mount Shuksan is in your face in the dining room and Picture Lake is a short walk away.

Be ready to pitch in and help. Those super low prices are supported by assisting lodge hosts in keeping things...

And a community attitude, which brings back how I think humans were meant to live together. Mountaineers members and non-members are welcome, just sign up via the...

Great meals and views. Has signal, heaters, a kitchen, hot beverage, ski/snowboard gear storage place, clothing and accessories drying room, fireplace, reusable plates and utensils, open space bunk beds, books, board games, chore duties for everyone, sleds that helps carry stuff from the parking lot.
