Picture Lake — Attraction in Area E (Chilliwack River Valley)

Been there few times mostly in the summer, thought of visiting during this time of year, went today to catch the reflection on the sunny day. But had a pleasant experience seeing frozen lake. Yes the lake is already frozen, but what an amazing break taking view of Mt. Shuksan in front of the lake, my kid enjoyed a lot throwing the snow balls in the frozen lake which skidded away for a quite distance. Picture Lake is a popular spot near the North Cascades National Park. It is accessible for kids and people of all abilities as the trail around the lake is paved. There is usually enough parking on the street near the lake. At the right time of day, this is a great spot to get photos but it can get busy, especially during the summer. This area also gets snow in the winter and may still have snow through early summer so be prepared with good shoes. July 4th 2023: was fortunate enough to be there over the 4th of july, which also coincided with the full buck moon. i stayed up all night and captured sunset, moonrise, moonset, and sunrise.. it was a magical time. the flowers are just beginning to bloom around both lakes. if you want the glasslike reflection, you'll want to be there at sunrise or sunset. bring your bug repellent - they are pretty bad around the...
