Keep in mind that until ~July, you can't drive all the way to Artist Point and your parking spot will be at Heather Meadows instead. BUT don't be disappointed! Heather Meadows is beautiful and you can either just wander around the area to admire the scenery, hike over to Bagley Lake, or you can hike to Artist Point via a not-too-difficult trail (if you are prepared for snow hiking with microspikes or snowshoes).
If the visitor center is open, I recommend going inside. If you're lucky the cute little gift shop will be open and the fireplace might even be operating. The rangers were super friendly and helpful on the two occasions we talked to them - one time they even helped us identify the little creature that was making a constant peeping sound as we were exploring the area.
Restrooms (which I believe are gender-specified, they should fix that) are next to the parking lot and whenever I've used them they've been clean and stocked with TT but extremely stinky. So just prepare yourself! The visitor center doesn't have...
