Wedding Block Review
If you’re looking for a hotel to book for your wedding, do yourself a favor and look anywhere but Aloft.
My wife and I met Aloft representative, Kayla Perron, at a wedding show at the Swan Club. She pitched a “Savvy meeting space” that could be used as a bridal suite. Rooms would be $169 for Regular King or $179 for Two Queen. My wife and I both remember her saying if the Packers do not play that weekend, the price would be less per room. She also offered a bubbly brunch which was priced at $22 a person. We talked with her about shuttle service which she said would be available up until midnight the day of our wedding.
Kayla emailed almost 2 weeks after we signed a contract and said she double booked the bridal suite area. Instead, she offered 2 adjoining rooms and comp’d one hotel room.
As my wife found a hair and makeup stylist months later, we found out there was no way they could use that space because there were no chairs or space for them to be able to do their work. My wife and I work in healthcare, so we trusted that Kayla knew what she was doing when she offered us the space with the two rooms. Clearly she didn’t, and should not have been at a wedding show promoting a hotel space that was not able to accommodate our needs, or should have let us look elsewhere when she double booked. My wife instead had to get ready at the salon on our wedding day & we decided the groomsmen would stay in that space so it didn't go to waste.
Fast forward to the week of the wedding: My wife sent an email asking if a shuttle could be available before the ceremony and the response from Kayla, 4 days from the wedding, was that shuttle service wasn’t available that day. Not even at night. This caused us both to panic & me to have to email and call Kayla to have this resolved. She ended up telling me we needed to call 30 days before our wedding in order to schedule the shuttle service. This was never discussed in our previous conversations and there were no reminders to do so. She was able to get a shuttle driver for the day and comp’d another room because of this ordeal but this wasn't the end of our stress.
Day before the wedding: The hotel is nice and the staff are friendly, so we don’t have anything bad to say about that. However, one of my groomsmen changed his plans and wanted to stay the night so he didn’t have to drive, so he asked the front desk for a room. They took his card information and booked a room, although unsure which one he actually booked because he wasn’t given enough information. Confused, and because I thought the room was going to be comp’d, I asked the front desk to help us make sense of what Kayla’s plans were. The woman working became upset because she said she had no information on what was booked regarding our wedding party. Therefore, Kayla did not leave any detailed outline of what was supposed to happen with our party and also caused stress for her own co-workers.
Day of the wedding: Bubbly brunch was supposed to be picked up from the hotel at 8:45 am so my groomsmen could take it into the salon & bridesmaids could enjoy it there. They had it ready just after 9:00 am and it only included enough for my wife and bridesmaids to have a small portion of food each which was intended to be their brunch until 5:30 pm when our dinner started. Additionally, later, as I was talking with my female cousin in the lobby before the ceremony, a shuttle driver walked up and asked her if it was okay for her and my best man’s wife to ride in his personal car “because it will be less bumpy” than the shuttle.
After: Because of the confusion regarding rooms, we were charged 1 extra room than we planned for. The cost for the rooms remained what she initially pitched even though there wasn’t a Packer game & she told us the would be cheaper. The bubbly brunch was $126 and didn’t feed any of the party well enough to make it through lunch.
Ultimately, we would highly recommend going with a different hotel if you want to avoid stress & poor...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for my brother's wedding. Walking in it looks nice, smells great. Our room was average, needs detailed cleaning in bathroom and shower area. We were told upon checking in the hotel bar was staying open late for our wedding event. The bartender the night of June 1st-2nd was the most disrespectful person I have ever met. It was about midnight on June 1st and there was no bartender at the bar the first 5 minutes I came down, even though the bar was packed. My husband already had a drink because he came down 10 minutes before me, and we were standing on the very corner side edge of the bar. I tried one of the wasabi nuts while waiting for a bartender to appear and it triggered my husband to have a sneezing "attack”, literally sneezing 20+ times in a row, there was only one area of the bar with napkins, the very middle which was blocked due to the bar being full, in response to control any germs/mucus from flying in the air at the bar in a room full of guests and open drinks I quickly grabbed a handful of napkins that were in the middle of the long bar top from behind the bar (which is wrong I know) instead of the manage between a shoulder to shoulder bar. After a few minutes the bartender appears immediately angry, scowling at me. Instead of saying hello or acknowledging a new person at her bar without a drink she told me to never step behind the bar again. I quickly apologized explained I know I should not have, but no one was around and my husband was having a sneezing attack and needed napkins quickly. She continued to scold me explaining those are drink napkins not hand napkins and she was going to call the police on me that I stepped behind the bar. I again apologized trying to explain a little differently I only did it because I didn’t want germs flying everywhere at a bar, and that was the only place I saw napkins of any kind. She then proceeded to get more and more angry with me, said “Sorry your husband was sneezing” in a snarkiest snide tone and pointed there was a bathroom over “there”, which I did not see any signs within looking in that direction nor knew of a bathroom close except our room on the 3rd floor. My husband and I kept stepping back from the bar and said we were leaving, as she continued to yell at me and make a scene. Leaving the bar walking towards the check-in desk we stopped to talk to a manager, there was no manager available we were told. The night supervisor did nothing to help calm the situation except explain I could talk to a manager in the morning, upon which I explained was my brother’s wedding day and I did not have time to do this. The next morning or even the following day no one followed up with me even though I told the supervision my room number and name to be contacted. I was so upset and frightened of being yelled like that at a bar I was shaking. I did not realize a simple act of grabbing napkins would cause a person to explode and react in that manner to a paying customer of the hotel. I do understand I should not have stepped behind the bar, but if there were cameras you would be able to clearly see I looked all over for something to grab, did it at quickly as possible and that was the only spot on the whole bar with napkins, there was none located next to the complimentary nuts provided, or even given to my husband underneath his drink. I am a nurse I know how far sneezes, mucus and germs spread, my husband was uncontrollably sneezing repeatedly, could not stop, and I was looking out for everyone at the bar with open drinks. I am so disappointed and upset with the stay we had there and am unsure if we will even stay at the Westin hotel which we have booked for another wedding coming up because it is managed by...

We are family of 5 staying in 2 rooms for 3 days.
Upon arrival, one of the rooms had a funky smell. William came up to see. He learned that we are staying 3 nights with 3 kids (14, 14, 16). William immediately provided us with 2 rooms directly across from one another. He solved the tall kids/bed problem bringing up a twin air mattress and then extra blankets for the cold kid.
Friday, we asked for room 216 to be made up and the housekeeper left a handwritten thank you note for the tip we left her.
Asked a different housekeeper to make up room 216 as we departed for day. Got back, not done.
Upon arrival, found safe open with bolts out, troubleshot it, unable to use. Showed it to a housekeeper. Not done.
Hallway tiny papers and other stuff on carpet by elevators of 2nd floor, remained the entire stay. Area not vacuumed.
Fridge in room 215 does not get cold despite changed settings. Room 216 = ok.
Found an earring under sink counter, found a pair of silver cuff links in area that looks to be a magazine rack opposite to mirror both in room 216.
First twin air mattress deflated in night, went to check on daughter in night and found her sunk in the middle. They gave us a functional one.
Nice staff in general. Asked for late checkout, NP. Asked for 2 glass-glasses, NP. Of note is William, knowledgeable, personable, accommodating, you need it, NP.
I like the massive open lobby with big couches TV, counter height table and other tables and free billiards table.
Hot tub (hot) and pool (warm) and area clean. Small towels provided. Son reports clean and nice work out room.
Large grassy area to walk pup behind hotel. Poopy bags and can present at key card, SW side door.
If like us you no longer buy plastic water bottles, there is a bubbler (drinking fountain in lobby). Fresh and cold. Ice machine next to that.
Free coffee in the morning in lobby.
We have 4 bicycles on the back of our truck, parking lot well lit at night, safe.
Two things that I like to note in hotels are sounds, and noises.
This place is located right off the highway but you wouldn’t know it from the inside rooms or public areas.
It is Saturday we are about to leave and I can smell cigarette smoke from my room going on somewhere on the second floor. Despite the small things stated above, this is a clean hotel. A good place for families with kids and dogs.
I give this place 4/5 stars for customer...
