I’ve been staying at this property for years and have experienced a major shift in the overall culture of the place. My family and I used to look forward to our stays at this hotel but this may be my final visit. Upon arrival, I’d already completed mobile check in but needed to get physical keys. I noticed a young lady in the lobby sitting looking down at her phone but surely this couldn’t be the front desk attendant because why remain seated when a guest is standing at the desk? I waited for about 4 minutes before asking if there is anyone working the front desk. No reply. She continued to focus on her phone. Nah, she definitely doesn’t work here. Maybe the attendant is in the back or making rounds. By this time, I’d been standing there, luggage in tow for 9 minutes so I decided to call. Yes. I stood inside the hotel and called the front desk from the front desk. Guess who got up and walked over to answer the phone? You guessed it. I explained to her that I was the caller and that I’d been standing there calling out for assistance for 10 minutes. She never apologized or acknowledged anything. I knew then this wasn’t going to be one of our better visits. The next morning when I came down for breakfast, there was a quarter sized splash of fresh blood on the floor on the way to the dining area. I brought it to the overnight attendant’s attention. Her response “Oh yeah that sure is blood” Well, an hour later when we came down to leave, that same spot of blood was still there. No cone. No sign. Nothing but a now dark red, dried blood stain. Look, I understand we live in a world where social media has every unhappy employee thinking that doing their job is optional and if you don’t have the wherewithal or attention span to handle the job description, make room for someone who will come in and treat these positions with integrity. As a business owner, my first mind would have been to immediately terminate these 2 young women because they are a heavy misrepresentation of anything hospitality, service, or even decent human interaction stand for. People like this will soon run what was once a nice facility into the ground and move on to their next disaster while simultaneously tarnishing the reputation of the...
Read moreVery Disappointed!!!!! The hotel staff/front desk clerk need more training in customer service skills. Did not go above and beyond to accommodate us after a long drive. We arrived at this hotel around 1:00. The young lady at the desk stated there were NO rooms cleaned at that time and we could not check in. Mind you, check out is at 11:00. So we said ok we will go eat and then come back. Returned back at 2:30. Still she said NO rooms cleaned. At this point she did not even check the computer. She was bent over on the desk and made no effect to see why rooms were not clean. We are not stupid. She was lying. All she had to say was she wasn't going to let us check in until 3:00 instead of making excuses. If there were NO rooms cleaned at 2:30 and check out is at 11:00, your housekeeping staff is pitiful. If they cannot clean ONE room in 3 1/2 hours something is definately wrong. At 3:00 this young lady grabbed her purse and left. we were still in the lobby and no room. She did not bother to give us an update on the status of our room.I did not get her name but she was an African American young lady and worked the day shift on 5/27. Finally, about 3:05 Rayna?? called us up and gave us a room. NO apology or anything. We got to our room, a king suite. The bed looked like a queen instead of a king. There were only two wash clothes for a room that should sleep three to four people. I called down for more towels and per Rayna?? she was the only person working and I would have to come down and get the towels. When I arrived downstairs she was talking to someone in the Lobby. It would not have taken her but 5 minutes to bring us the towels. For a Marriott we were shocked at this kind of service. The only good things about this hotel experience was the room was clean and the breakfast attendant was friendly and kept the area clean...
Read moreHorrible experience- an extremely dirty hotel and poor customer service. Yet the hotel brags that they are the “newest” hotel in the area…. SCARY TO THINK!!
My family was in the area for family funeral, checked into 2 rooms and both were tragically dirty and not ready for guest…
Floor not vacuumed, crumbs on the table, beds not made/ old sheets, weird musty type odor, no lightbulbs in lamps, tv didn’t work, dirty towels and hanging over the shower rod.
Immediately called the manager who admitted the rooms were not clean and acknowledged all the issues, but said we could not change rooms because we had pulled the covers back on the beds. After explaining we were checking the sheets and mattresses and had only been in the room 5 minutes, the manager said that didn’t matter. She then proceeded to smooth out the sheets, but failed, so we asked for new bedding, but was told no. The manager said, the sheets were clean, the bed has just been poorly made.
We asked if we could just cancel the reservation and were told by the manager that if we checked out we would be charged for the night as well as an early checkout fee, but were assured that everything would get fixed by the time we returned from dinner.
When we returned for dinner we were concerned for our safety as there were about 5 police officers in the lobby. We asked the front desk what happened we were told- The police were there taking care of something and it’s done.
We then returned to our rooms and saw nothing had been done. We went back to the front desk to ask what happened and was told if we checked out in the morning we would not be charged any penalties or for an additional night. We checked out first thing in the morning and booked another room in Mobile, AL over an hour away.
Wish I could give...
