The stay started out rough. I checked in online and arrived to a friendly staff that had my keys ready. As I read the key envelope I noticed the room number appeared to be different than what I selected online, but I figured the staff did this for a reason. I went upstairs and looked over the room then I exited the hotel for a few hours. When I arrived back to the hotel and went up to my room, the key did not work. I tried over and over to make it work. At the same time, I sent my brother and newborn nephew downstairs to check what could be wrong with the front desk. The person at the desk activated a new key. While he was downstairs and I was upstairs attempting to get the key to work, I heard a voice from within the room say “Can I help you with something?” This was alarming. We immediately moved away from the door and headed towards the elevator hoping to get downstairs and catch my brother in the lobby to report the issue. He had made it upstairs already. We spoke to the front desk alerting the lady that another person is occupying the room I had been assigned. She called up to the room shocked to hear a man’s voice. The man advised that he had “just almost shot a man and his baby while they walked into his room”. And that some women (me, my sister, and niece) had tried to barge into his room. You could hear his shock and anger through the phone. The front desk lady (the same as the one that issued my key) couldn’t understand the mix up. She appeared extremely confused. She reviewed the computer and issued a key to the room I originally checked into online. She went upstairs to be sure there was no one occupying the room before we went up. This room had so many issues from a cup in a hole in the wall behind the door, to scraped and scratched up walls, to a filthy tub and surround. Just a lowly standard of hotel upkeep. We sanitized everything and covered the beds to rest for one evening, but could never imagine...
Read moreI usually don't leave a review before I can complete my stay but this hotel is so exceptional that I am forced to make an exception on my general rule! This is not my first time staying here. I have stayed a few times before and I have said it before and I will say it again....THIS HOTEL IS THE EPITOME OF WHAT THE HILTON BRAND STANDS FOR! From the moment that you set foot into the lobby the staff makes you feel at home EVERY TIME. The manager goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure every need is met to create a pleasant stay. The breakfast is always on point and fresh with great options. The management is always so accommodating. The rooms are always above the standards set for them to achieve on cleanliness and presentation. The rooms are also very large and spacious and they offer that feeling of at home comfort with an extra dose of luxury. The staff is always giving you a nice smile and a great attitude! I just can't say enough good things about this place! I am a Hilton Honors member so I have stayed at many Hilton locations in and out of the U.S. This location is in my top 3 best ever places to stay! Hilton really should consider sending their staff from other Hilton locations here for additional training because it may be listed as a two star hotel but they consistently offer a five star experience! And then the fact that you can literally see the casino resort just across the way and they have a shuttle that takes you there for free, only sweetens the pot for those looking for a good location to stay in Atmore. I hope that the Hilton brand recognizes what a valuable gem they have in this small Atmore location because I can honestly say I absolutely love...
Read moreI often stay at Hampton Inn and Suites. My schedule called for stays at 2 different locations. Prior to my May 5, 2023 Friday night and May 7, 2023 Sunday night stay, Hampton Inn and Suites was my preferred hotel. Approximately 6 years ago I stayed at this Atmore, Alabama location, and the hotel was pristine. This hotel is the closest hotel to Wind Creek Casino. On Friday and Sunday night, this place was horrible. The Friday room smelled musty and moldy. Everything about the old dingy chair, next to the table and the ultra modern and clean desk chair, said, “Do NOT sit here!” Seemingly the chair scraped the wall. The bed pillows were extremely dirty and flat. For both nights, the shower was filthy with a thick dark cruddy substance around the lower sides of the shower. The toilet paper holder was shaky; beside it was a hole in the wall. The towel rack over the toilet seat displayed much rust. The bathroom vent was rusty and dirty.
Saturday night I stayed at a Hampton Inn and Suites in Saraland, Alabama (45 minutes away). Everything in that hotel welcomed me.
The ONLY good part about this Atmore location was the EXCELLENT hotel staff! I salute them for their exemplary professionalism while working at this -1 star hotel. My 2-star rating is for the staff and a flushing toilet. I pray that Hilton will immediately...
