Checked in the early morning by Linda, she was extremely pleasant and give her very good rating.||She informed me about breakfast COVID policy for take away. We would rather go pay a breakfast at Waffle House to sit down. Eating in a hotel room bring roaches to future guest and would pass.||Went to bed almost right away at 2 AM. ||||The next morning is when the experience was a big flat 2 out of ten experience. Toilet verified clean with old school toilet ribbon. No notice in the room on COVID policy. No ironing board, no iron, no coffee, no coffee, no tea, zero condiments, or cups, no ice bucket, Called front desk and no spiral cord to communicate with the front desk, and this was a handicap designated room. ||When I arrived half dressed to the front I was greeted by Norma Jean. She knew so I call but no one was there and told her if I had a telephone cord we cold actually talk. On the defense of the hotel she was had only one foot planted on that document. I needed a iron and ironing board which she went to the back to retrieve with some coffee cups, nothing more. They were handed to me without gloves. How inconsistent and let her know I housekeeping left hangers from the previous guest. I appreciate that they did, the hotel did not provide them. The continuity does not exist at this hotel or plain lazy. ||Returning to a room, I was increasingly irritated I decided to take pictures of this experience. The debris left behind both beds is way unacceptable and management needs to step up to the plate and make sure that it was deep cleaning on schedule at least every 4 month or sooner.||The photos explain our frustration with this hotel. Yes the sheets, mattress, pillows, towels shower curtain as well as the carpet were in excellent condition. The counter tops were well wiped down. Remote control for TV and known to the dirtiest in a hotel room was not at the front desk. I give them the benefit of the doubt that it was wiped as well as the coffee maker. The COVID policy are inconsistent with what’s missing from the room.||Upon checking out, Norma Jean, overplayed not genuine, have an amazing day comment without balance of apology but blaming the night auditor for not communicating the hotel COVID policy. ||||I never ask for a discount or even implied, we already had a discount rate. I just want future guest to understand what they are getting before they arrive. ||Normally I do not write reviews to this extent and usually it is first impression but this time, it was the last impression. Doubt we will ever return to this location even though we pass through about...
Read moreI used hot wire and the filter I wanted a hotel with a pool..the pool was cloudy so the chemical was off and there was a ton of garbage and debris in it. Was not swim-ready. There was some weird rust stain in the tub where you stand in our bathroom. A big family was upfront also complaining about stuff the hotel messed up and had the manager driving in to try and fix it. So the breakfast isn't self serve u wait at little table with a sign posted of the menu and portions. So, they give you portions and that's fine covid friendly, but there is "2 sausages per guest, 1 fruit" but they ran out of food for most the breakfast pretty fast. Despite knowing the guest number and quantity of hotel not to mention they are portioning out the food, they still ran out. The bed was soft, but we even had to go down to get our own extra blankets after requesting it. For a "4star" hotel I expected more. I've stayed in other Holiday inns before and this was just over all bad. The bathroom doors open right into the toilets so u gotta make sure you walk in, stand against the sink then close the door. also the shampoo/conditioners /body wash was mounted down to the wall so you can't read the ingredients and they were not full. I had already brought my own for me and the kids. Good thing cause we didn't have any in the bathroom. If I had known the Wind Creek was across the street prior to looking for a hotel to stay over in...I would have stayed there. It was like if you called the desk for something they didn't know what to do without asking someone else. if it was ok to give u extra blankets or not. Also at breakfast, they don't have anyone helping clean off tables. So the one napkin they give u, ppl were cleaning their table and seat cause there are only so many places to sit and eat...and they have to ask for more napkins. They should have had someone help the one breakfast server keep things clean. We were not the only ones cleaning off tables to try and sit and respect the social distance. They have signs posted about covid but the staff wasn't trying to help. If you have signs then help enforce said signs like you...
Read moreI checked into room 225 at the Holiday Inn Express on 2/16/25. To preface, when staying at hotels I always take off the bedding and check the mattress for bedbugs upon arrival. While using my phone flashlight to check the mattress, I found bedbug shells, bedbug feces, and bedbug eggs. I went to the front desk, told the staff what happened, and requested a refund. The front desk agent then called her manager and put me on the phone with her. The manager was immediately dismissive, saying that room was cleaned today and I “must have really good eyesight to see bedbug eggs and shells.” I explained that I took photos of everything I saw, and every picture has a timestamp. I then emailed the photos to the hotel email she provided me. While waiting for the manager to arrive and process my refund, a staff member came over to me and asked to see the photos I took. I showed her, then she said that she just went up there to check and didn’t see anything and she “also took pictures”… my photos are geotagged and timestamped, so they were unequivocally taken at the Holiday Inn Express in Atmore, AL on 2/16/25. I could hear other staff members loudly exclaiming that there are no bedbugs, they just cleaned that room, etc. I was appalled at the unprofessional behavior and blatant gaslighting displayed by the staff throughout this experience, with exception to the front desk agent. She was apologetic, professional, and addressed my concerns immediately without attempting to gaslight or dismiss me like other staff did. Once the manager arrived, she processed my refund. I am posting the photos I took along with the geotags and timestamps, to show that there are ABSOLUTELY, without a doubt, bedbugs at this hotel. On the top left of each photo is the location and the time the photo was taken. The Holiday Inn Express in Atmore, AL needs to be held accountable for not only the bedbugs, but also for the inappropriate behavior from staff towards me after bringing it to...
