Econo Lodge in Auburn Maine. Very run down. In dyer need of upgrades all around. Pictures don't give you a true idea of what the room s are like. I'm including pictures we took of our room. Walls are in bad shape, couple holes in the ceiling, lamp bases were starting to show rust. Beds in our room were foam mattresses on top of a frame, no box spring type bed. The foam was very soft (way too soft), uncomfortable and hold your body heat so much so we had to turn on the A/C and this was on the weekend of Oct. 24th to the 26th and it's not because it was hot out, it was freezing! We had joining room with family. The doors between the rooms (between the two doors), were dirty and they were hollow doors, so if someone sneezed or laughed you could hear it clearly! The clothes rack was badly rusted!! The paint is pealing the wall between the toilet and tub in the bathroom. Paint is also pealing off inside the tub! At least the tub was not slippery! The floor is ceramic, but the grout and corners look like they've never been cleaned properly. Needs a good scrub or just change the flooring!! Very disgusting 🤮 the shower head is very old, but at least it had good pressure. The shower curtain is a thin material. The water passes through it, so water ends up on the floor and it is not weighed down, so it gets pulled into your shower space and sticks to you as you're trying to wash! The furniture also had a lot of scratches and showing wear and tear. Never staying at any Econo...
Read moreNO THIS LOCATION DID NOT RESPOND!!! LOOK AT THE HOTEL RESPONSE TO ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS. THEY NEVER MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THEY ONLY DEFEND THEMSELVES (implying that customers are crazy unless the review is positive). I booked a same-day reservation through a 3rd party based on inaccurate information given by a male/female employee at this location concerning the check-in time. I asked the General Manager (Sam) to refund, change dates or offer any help within 1 HOUR of making the reservation and was told they would just keep my money. She (Sam) was extremely rude. The third party I booked with (Priceline) stated that they would issue a refund if the hotel released the funds but Sam refused to release the funds or direct my concern to the owner of this franchise. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS INDEPENDENTLY OWNED LOCATION. Corporate does not have access to this location's billing system. This is the worst customer service I have ever received from a hotel. RUN AWAY! They kept my money and I never stayed at their property. This review will only be removed if these thieves give me back my money. I did not use...
Read moreall we would expect for an overnight stay was great. We had ONE item to pass along. As travelers, one thing we hope for is to feel safe. We suggest that the hotel invest in a maintenance task and repair the door frame on room #151. It was very obvious that for whatever reason, either there was an emergency need to break open the door in the past (maybe emergency medical etc.) Or worse, there was a criminal attempt to pry open the door - it is hard not to notice the door jamb damage. As a traveller, it was unnerving to see this - and t wold do well for the management (owners) to take the expense and trouble to replace/repair it. Even though there cold be a legitimate reason for the door needing to be forced open - it also would give a traveler a worry as to the crime rate in the area or the safety of the area. I know this is an elaborate note for so small an issue - but BOTH of us noticed it and had the same thought process about it. Aside from that - staff, and the facility were great and it was obvious the place gets updated and inspected regularly - we thought...
