I'm staying at this hotel right now. We are here for a week in Austin, dealing with a really tough family situation. The one request I had when we checked in was to have our room serviced every day. There is just something about coming back to a refreshed room that makes me feel better. Only once in the almost week we have been here has it happened. Every day I ask the front desk "can you please ensure our room is serviced". Every day the front desk tells me that they only service rooms every two days. Every day I tell them it's my understanding that we can request that it be more often. Every day they tell me that is correct and that the request is in the system and it will be serviced daily. And every day with the exception of one day, has it actually happened. Today, I came back from a 12-hour day of being outside in 109 degree heat helping my parents move and found out, once again, our room has not been serviced. Very, very disappointing. Additionally, the fan in the bathroom is broken. We reported it the first day we were here and it's also still not fixed. Management - this is unacceptable. First, this isn't a "rent by the week" kind of hotel. Why are you only providing housekeeping every two days? It feels like hotels started doing that during COVID as a way to cut down on germs, but guys, this is a nice hotel with the price tag that confirms it. Please re-think your policy or offer your guest an incentive to opt out. Or, rent by the week so the guest is experiencing the same savings you are by not providing daily housekeeping. Also, the wifi here is abysmal. If you are trying to work or do anything online, I hope you have a usable hot spot. The pool is also very small (think like backyard residential pool). It gets very, very crowded on the weekends. Pros - hotel is new and well appointed. It's quiet and clean. The mattress, bedding and towels are nice as are the sleeper sofas. The fitness room is good and the breakfast is convenient. It's also a good location for NW Austin locations. The staff has been polite, however the communication issues have overshadowed that. Overall I would not stay in this hotel again or recommend it due to the obvious communication issues between the staff, the lack of daily housekeeping and...
Read moreI cannot recommend this hotel enough for taking care of me while waiting to move into my new home.
To begin - Mariana was very prompt at answering my questions about having a moving truck on the property. It was large and with a car carrier and she said that as long as there's availability, there would be no problem.
Then as I was driving down, I was delayed by over a day. I was initially charged as a no-show, but I called them as soon as I could get cell phone service and explained my situation. They were able to waive the fee and help me rebook my stay with them with my AAA rate.
When I arrived, it was a smooth check in process and they remembered me from last time and made sure to provide a room away from the construction so I could finally get some rest.
I appreciated the fact that breakfast was available every morning and that there was a gym on-site. Laundry facilities are also available - so convenient for longer term stays.
I initially thought I would only be staying a couple of nights, but had to keep extending due to issues with moving into my new home. The staff at this hotel were very accommodating and helped me keep the same room for additional days at my AAA rate. They also helped me with a late checkout when I needed to move everything out of the hotel room into the truck and to my new place.
Everyone there (especially Eric) was friendly, polite, and went above and beyond to help me out when they could.
I highly recommend them. They're one of the best of the Marriott hotels...
Read moreAs someone who is handicapped and uses a mobility device to assist me in moving around, I found several issues that need to be addressed at this property. None of them are major issues, but more things to consider. The hallway leading to the elevator is very narrow and the only way to gain access to the elevator is by excuting a 3 point turn in the hallway. The door to my room (and I imagine others) is very difficult to open and slams closed due to the pressure caused by the air conditioning system. Once in the room the space between the fridge and the bathrhioom door is very narrow and difficult to navigate. You can not get to the closet space in a 2 queen room because there is not enough room to pass between the bed and opening in a wheelchair. The beds roll or move when you attempt to sit on them. This makes it difficult to transfer from a wheelchair and the bed safely. There are no electrical plugs in the bathroom (or at least not in the room I was in). I was happy that a bath chair was provided, however, it was put together so that the only way to use it was by facing the back of the bathtub. This means in order to reach the shower or adjust the water flow/temperature, you have to turn around. And, finally, asthetically, the square shaped handicap safety bars in the bathroom are lovely, but are extremely painful to grip if you have arthritis or small hands as the edges dig in. On a good note, the staff is friendly and the...
