I have stayed in this hotel for about two months now. I wanted to wait before posting this review because I wanted to see if they were consistent. I am a travel nurse and have been for a couple of years now. I have stayed in different hotels and I don’t usually write a review because there is usually not much to say, they usually are not any different. But this hotel is an exception and I will explain why.
The Rooms: Clean and well maintained. As a healthcare provider, I am very particular about cleanliness and this hotel doesn’t disappoint. The rooms smell good, the sheets are clean and the pillows are very comfortable. The personal care products they provide in the bathrooms smell so good too. They do not have carpet in the rooms which I like. They have a mini fridge in the room but they do not have a microwave. They do, however, have one by the front desk which I think is not a big deal because it is such a short walk from the rooms. And besides, it is a great opportunity to get to know the staff. They are very accommodating and friendly. Amazing job to the housekeepers. Even on the days that are very busy, you still maintain the same quality of service you provide.
Complimentary Breakfast: Grab and go! If you are expecting a buffet breakfast with fake eggs and thin-barely there bacon, then this is not for you. What they do have are organic fruits, coffee beans that are freshly ground, still and sparkling water, REAL eggs. And they try to change it up a bit daily which I really appreciate especially since I live here almost everyday. As soon as I get down to the lobby I just grab what I like and drive to work. It is very convenient for me. Though, you do have the option of sitting in for breakfast should you want to.
Staff: EXCEPTIONAL! Justine, Cristine and Keyla all make you feel like family. As soon as you walk in the door, you see their faces light up, it just brightens up the room and their warmth and hospitality are contagious. And I think that has a lot to do with how they choose their people when hiring. I have met their General Manager, Jennifer and you can just feel that warmth and sincerity just radiate from her. Kudos to the team. It is rare to have such a cohesive team.
Ambiance: I love how it is so quiet and peaceful here. After a long day at work, It is just what I need. They do not have a pool here (In case you were wondering), which I think is maybe one of the reasons why it stays quiet throughout the day. There is that waterpark close by. Rather than paying for an expensive hotel in the water park, you can opt to stay here with the family and just pay for day use over there. That’s what I do when my kids come to visit.
Little Extras that matter to me: They prepare these flavored water by the front desk, with cookies and brownies sometimes for guests to have for free. The flavors change. Sometimes it’s lemon water, or cucumber, apples or strawberries. They are so good. It is one of the things I look forward to when i get back from work. It isn’t there everyday. But when it is, I urge you to try them. They are so refreshing.
If you are looking for a place that has great value for money, this is where you go. You will not find a place like this with this much genuine care and great attention to detail at this price range. I have been to many and I have not found one like this. This is like a second home to me and I thank everyone from this hotel for making me feel less homesick. You...
Read moreJust visited Austin for the first time and stayed for a week. Before the trip, I did - maybe an excessive amount of - hotel research to find a good place to stay that wasn't going to break the bank. After a few hours of reading reviews and comparing prices, I decided on Avid NW Lakeline and crossed my fingers that it was the right choice.
Its a little ways from Downtown Austin, but I had my car so that part didn't bother me much. And I was pleased to find that the traffic really wasn't too bad, all things considered.
Now for the hotel. FREE parking is an automatic plus. That, along with not having to use Valet parking was one of the reasons I decided to look further outside the downtown area. I didn't have any issue parking in their lot the entire week. The parking lot is lit and it feels safe. Its also incredibly easy to get to from the highway and to get back on to the highway.
Then we enter the lobby - Incredibly clean, super well lit, and very welcoming! They even have coffee and a few other options available free all day. Thats another automatic plus in my book! The front desk staff was really nice and made the check in/out process easy peasy.
Next, the room. We were on the 4th floor which is the top floor at this hotel. Elevator access was never an issue. We never had to wait long for one to arrive. The elevators were clean and spacious, the hallways were clean and well lit. The room was also incredibly clean! I know this is a newer hotel, but sometimes they take a turn for the worse sooner than seems possible. This place certainly doesn't seem like that'll be the case. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean and soft. The bathroom was very spacious and also well-cleaned! We aren't too picky about where we stay, but cleanliness and safety are the highest priorities. And this place gets an A+ in my book for the week we were there!
It also happened to be the hottest week in Austin, but the A/C was able to keep up and our room never got uncomfortable!
I was also very pleasantly surprised that our stay was incredibly quiet. The hotel is right off the highway, but the noise is not overwhelming at all. And my room even faced the road. The other guests in the hotel were also quiet and respectful.
Overall, I couldn't have been happier with my stay here and I'm glad I ended up searching so long for hotels so I was able to find this place. I'll be staying here again the next time I'm in Austin.
Also - if you like coffee, there's a coffee shop called Cuppa Austin 3 minutes away and super easy to get to....
