Hamilton Cove — Hotel in Avalon

This place is all about the view and location, and I need to say that it is simply astonishing. Note that for a place like this, and with the cost you pay, you would expect the common areas (spa, pool, gym, and others) to be in perfect condition, which is not the case. Pool furniture from 1980, abandoned common areas, spa in rough condition including a terrible smell coming from the sewer drains, and zero control about loud parties in other apartments.

The unit we stayed in was nice, in good shape, and it was well-equipped, including the golf cart, that is a must be. The view and sound of the ocean are simply amazing. You can observe marine wildlife, cruise ships passing by, and people doing marine sports. Sitting in the balcony was the best activity. Would i go back? Probably yes, but now I know...

Four of us stayed @ 2-27. The good: the view from every room, the peacefulness, the cleanliness, immediate help when requested, friendliness of all of the staff. The not so good: the golf cart was in pretty bad shape, and the brakes didn’t work, the banister going downstairs to the master bedroom was broken, The toilet in the master bathroom had a pretty significant internal leak that I fixed three times for a temporary respite, the table on the patio is very very wobbly, and the woodwork throughout could be freshened up with stain in 45 minutes. The shower curtains in both bathrooms are 2 feet too short so water splashes out on the floor. I feel like volunteering to go over and fix this place up. Truly terrible and unsettling experience with the ridiculously aggro guy at the gate.

Staying elsewhere on the island but we were thinking about trying Hamilton Cove next year, so we wanted to walk through and see what it’s like and asked if we could in a friendly way. He was extremely aggressive and rude in his refusal, stepping to us like he wanted to fight for absolutely no reason. This dude didn’t have to let potential customers in to look, but he really didn’t need to flex and lose his cool like that. This guy lost Hamilton Cove several interested potential customers, and if this is the type of people they keep on staff I don’t recommend anyone else...
