My experience on the Catalina Zip Line Eco Tour was nothing short of incredible, and I can confidently say it deserves every one of these five stars. From start to finish, the entire adventure was beautifully organized, thrilling, and surprisingly educational. What really made it unforgettable, though, were our guides—Zach and Gina—who elevated the tour with their energy, professionalism, and genuine passion for what they do.
The tour began with a warm welcome and a clear, engaging safety briefing that immediately set the tone. Zach and Gina struck the perfect balance between keeping things lighthearted and making sure everyone felt safe and confident. They explained the equipment, demonstrated proper technique, and answered every question with patience. For many in our group, including me, there was a mix of excitement and a little nervousness before stepping off that first platform. Zach and Gina handled it brilliantly, keeping the atmosphere fun and reassuring at the same time.
As soon as I launched off the first zip line, soaring high above the canyons with views of the sparkling ocean and rugged island landscape, I knew I was in for something special. The course itself is stunning—five lines that get progressively faster and longer, giving you a rush of adrenaline and jaw-dropping scenery at the same time. Between zips, Gina shared fascinating insights about Catalina’s unique ecosystem, its native plants and wildlife, and the conservation efforts that help preserve the island’s natural beauty. It wasn’t just an adventure—it was a chance to really connect with the environment.
What impressed me most about Zach was his ability to make everyone feel comfortable and celebrated. He had a way of turning nerves into laughter and kept the energy high with his sense of humor. Gina, on the other hand, brought such warmth and knowledge that every transition between platforms felt like a mini eco-lesson in the most enjoyable way. Together, they made an outstanding team—professional yet approachable, safe yet adventurous.
By the time we reached the final, exhilarating line that rockets you down toward Descanso Beach, I was both thrilled and a little sad it was coming to an end. The blend of adrenaline, natural beauty, and the incredible guidance from Zach and Gina made it an experience I’ll never forget.
If you’re visiting Catalina Island, the Zip Line Eco Tour is absolutely a must-do. It’s worth every penny and then some. And if you’re lucky enough to have Zach and Gina as your guides, you’re in for an experience that goes beyond just a zip line ride—it’s an adventure, an education, and a memory that will stay with you long after you’re back on solid ground.
If I could I would invite both my guides to my wedding, since I can’t I’m just gonna name my first born after them. Zach Gina Rule

Read moreI can’t say enough good things about our experience with Catalina Zip Line Eco Tours. If you’re on the island and looking for something adventurous, this is an absolute must-do. It was easily one of the most memorable parts of our trip, and a lot of that had to do with our amazing guides, Zach and Danny.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt smooth and organized. The check-in process was quick, and the energy from the staff instantly put us in the right mindset—excited but completely at ease. Once we met Zach and Danny, we knew we were in great hands. They immediately set the tone for the tour with a perfect mix of professionalism and humor. They explained all the safety procedures clearly and made sure everyone in the group felt comfortable with their gear. You could tell they genuinely cared about creating both a safe and fun experience for everyone.
The course itself is breathtaking—five different zip lines stretching across Catalina’s hillsides and canyons, each one offering a new perspective of the island. With every line, the views got more and more spectacular. One moment you’re zipping over rugged canyons, and the next you’re soaring with the Pacific Ocean sparkling in the background. It honestly felt like flying.
What made the adventure even better was how Zach and Danny guided us through it. They weren’t just there to clip us in and send us off—they shared interesting facts about Catalina’s history, its unique ecosystem, and the wildlife that call the island home. It turned the experience into more than just a thrill ride; it felt like a true eco-tour. At the same time, they kept everyone laughing with their jokes and lighthearted banter, which helped calm nerves and kept the energy in the group upbeat but Zach and Danny were incredibly encouraging without ever being pushy. They celebrated each person’s ride down the line, cheered us on, and just pure excitement. It was clear they really love what they do, and that enthusiasm was contagious.
Not only was it an adrenaline rush, but it was also a chance to appreciate Catalina’s beauty in a way you can’t get from the ground. Zach and Danny truly went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience—we left with huge smiles, a little more confidence, and memories we’ll be talking about for years to come.
If you’re visiting Catalina, don’t miss this. And if you happen to get Zach and Danny as your guides, consider yourself lucky—you’re in for the adventure...

Couldn’t be more pleased with our experience here. My boys and I have had experience with ropes courses in Europe, and were never disappointed.
I would say this ropes course is easily on par with the awesome courses of Germany and France. Let’s talk about the difficulty. We did all of the courses, from beginner to Black diamond. The beginner courses are a great way to warm up and get acclimatized to bring 20 feet in the air if you’ve never done a ropes course before. Obstacles are challenging, but not impossible.
The intermediate courses are challenging. They will push you, and will test your grip strength and balance. If you can do the beginner course, you can do the intermediate course.
The black diamond course is extremely challenging. My boys seem to handle it no problem, but they are also 130lbs less than me. I’m in fairly decent shape, I’ve been doing CrossFit for about a year, and the black diamond really tested my core strength, and grip strength. Not impossible, but I was sweating during the course. A worthy challenge!
Safety was exceptional. They use a safety clip on system. One of the clips can be disengaged, but the other one cannot. It’s a safety measure designed to keep you from falling when you are switching your clips onto different parts of the course. They had this exact same system in Germany, and it’s a breeze to learn.
The instructors, or guides were fantastic. It seemed like they wanted to be there and we’re happy that we were there too. They got to know us a little bit, asked where we were from, and it seemed less like just showing us how to do it so they could get money, and more like an immersive experience. Really really impressed with that.
The only thing I see for improvement would be the quality of the photos they provide. I don’t know if the lens was dirty, the screen was dirty, or it’s just a low resolution camera. Not a huge thing, but the photos can get expensive, and it would be nice to have some thing with high resolution.
