A nice surprise. I read online reviews so gave this place a try; otherwise, would have passed them by. The exterior is dated & weather worn. In need of some exterior updates. Breezeway is tiled rather than concrete. Some tiles broken or cracked, dirty grout. Exterior appears to have been recently painted but the AC units in the room fronts are rusty. The grounds are landscaped nicely and mowed but they need some weed control. Grass is weedy and flower beds are too. Rooms are clean, appear to have been recently redecorated. Offer fridge, microwave, nice big TV. Supposedly the remotes are sanitized. They are in a bag. As soon as you step inside there is tile then carpet. Assuming b/c this is a golfing & skiing area so lots of dirt tracked in. Grout in tile is dirty and stained. Some tiles cracked. Bathroom roomy & two areas. Tub & toilet separate from vanity which is nice and long. Really liked the corner shelves in the vanity area. Nice place to put personal items and offers more counter space. Clothes rack and ironing board in vanity area. Rates are a good value. Convenient location. Gadabouts caterer does the complimentary breakfast which was nicer than most. Lots of hot items; eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes with numerous toppings in addition to usual breakfast fare. The dining area is a separate room and like a roomy restaurant offering booths as well as tables. Layout is good for traffic flow so people aren't jammed up in one area. This motel has a very nice pool and pool deck area. The property is old style with exterior room entrances with large plate glass windows facing the exterior breezeway so not very private. There was plenty of parking close to the rooms.

What I learned from this stay was: don't judge a book by its cover. When we pulled up outside I was a little concerned that maybe I'd made a mistake. The outside looks rather dated, the railings are rusty and chipping paint, and the sidewalk/walkways are filled with chipping and peeling concrete. But once you step inside the lobby things really take a turn. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and decorum. The staff was very friendly and seemed excited that we were from out of town. They helped me to enroll into their honors program, which made it super simple on my behalf, so that this stay could start earning me points right away. They serve your typical continental breakfast in the dining area. (So thankful that these things are getting back to normal after covid. I usually plan my trips without breakfast stops since most places typically offer it.) The room was nice and looked somewhat newly remodeled. They have an outdoor pool, a very small workout room, a patio area, and propane grills with picnic tables. My only complaint was the bed. The mattress was rather firm which made it difficult for me to get a good night's sleep. I prefer a little give but that's my issue not theirs. The location was great and the mountain views from our room on the back of the motel made for a wonderful stay. I'll be keeping this one on my list of places I'd stay again.

Updated: Manager reached out to me after our stay and provided some ways to correct this for us. I have updated to add more stars to ratings ,as I appreciate their concern and help. If it weren’t for the heating issue, other items were satisfactory and hopefully others will not run into any similar issues here. Freezing!! Front desk staff was super friendly. Convenient location. That said, paid $200+ and we were freezing in the room bc the Heater wouldn’t heat room past 67 .. the comforters and blanket was thin so it made for miserable night —surprised we didn’t get sick.. we had to wear layers and jackets and still couldn’t sleep wellS Called front desk in middle of night (4AM) but they didn’t have any good solutions and we were too tired at the point to change rooms etc. we complained next AM and just got a “sorry”. I would Not recommend. Look further out of town if you are unable to secure a local bed and breakfast.!

I agree with one of the people who posted about really not judging a book by its cover but my opinion was a little bit different and I am less accepting of the old well used hotel. The hotel needs to be updated. It looked like my room had had the rug replaced years ago and the design cut into the top of the rug is completely worn out. The toilet is from the 1970s and a 5 to 7 gallon flusher. It shows that this room has not been updated in many many years. Black mold in the bathroom. They are milking everything they can out of the hotel or they just don't have the money to update it. Typical Best Western furnishings from the 1970s. The room was very small. The beds were only double beds and not Queen beds. Queen's most likely would not have fit. Plumbing in the shower was adequate. There is no scald protection. Workable small refrigerator with freezer compartment which was frosted. Really old headboards and I doubt they clean them off when they clean the rooms. Chairs stained. It just was old and probably not very clean. Old tiny Motel rooms. The bath towels were so thin you could see through them. As always, had to go back and ask for more towels and shampoos. I understand hotels cannot control their guests and it's the guests that really destroy and make others hotel stays undesirable. The guest in the room next to mine appeared to be a single mother with many little kids probably living there. What bothered me is she was smoking outside of her room and when people smoke outside the rooms the HVAC system suck that air into your room. Smoking is disgusting and this is what you get when people smoke. Probably would have been a better off on the second floor because footsteps are pretty loud when you're on the first floor and people are jumping around above you.

Internet was fairly slow.

The lady at the front desk was amazing. What a sweet person. Very good customer service. No problems when we asked for extra towels or soap. I'm sure she has dealt with worse than me over the years.

Here's the kicker. We are staying at several Best Western Hotels this summer and have already picked up on the lack luster breakfasts from this chain. In general the breakfasts are not worth the time going down there and eating it. However, the breakfast food/service at this particular Hotel was just so much worse than the others. Like I said, the food that they put out for people at the Best Westerns is pretty much non-edible to begin with but this hotel takes it to another level using the same bad food found at most other best westerns. Here they had eggs sausage patties and watered down white sauce but didn't have the hash browns that were served at the Best Western we stayed at the night before. Getting that breakfast in the morning really taints anyone's opinion of the hotel and that's really the last impression one has before they leave. Get rid of the breakfast if you can't do something decent. This is not a place that that I would not stay in again as I've stayed in so much worse hotels. But I wouldn't want to spend too much money staying here unless they refurbish the place and made sure people didn't smoke outside the rooms. If you stay here, they have a very good Asian restaurant right across the street which I would highly recommend if you like that...

No stars is what I want to have. My friends and I stayed there after a wedding in October. We stayed one night. We were there to change before the wedding and then came back after the wedding and were up for about 30-45 mins. The men were both on the balcony and since they had drank a little..& it was around 11 pm they were a little too loud and we had someone show up to say we had a noise complaint and to keep it down ( no phone call was ever made). Then we went to bed. A month later my friend who ordered the room was charged with 200 for a picture and wall damage!!! ARe you kidding me?!? we said. They charged her without her knowing. and also showed us a picture of the damage. It looked like "someone had punched the wall"....And I mean someone not us four. We NEVER did anything to that room! We were barely even there! Oh, but they said well you had multiple noise complaints, we called several times...but of course we have no proof to prove them except out honest to god word. I have NEVER been soo livid and felt sooo taken advantage of before. I will never, my family will never...all my friends who have stayed @ a Best western will never again

To answer your reply. My post is months late because I thought it had been fixed. Until my friend told me otherwise about 3 weeks ago and asked me to help out with money (paying for something we didn't do). We received NO phone calls to our room not sure how many times Kelsey and I have had to say that to you guys. I'd love to see your phone records that night to prove no phone was made. If it had do you really think cops were at all needed. If we had gotten even one warning saying "hey you've been loud for the 30 mins you've been back that the Two boys on porch would of caused a "situation" as you feel so necessary to say. Two men out in the hall way is no party nor situation that a staff member would need a cop for! You stating that the cops were called for a situation is just ridiculous. Ask the cop that night, he walked up and saw the boys and said hey we got a complaint keep it down. That's it! No phone call from the hotel....No just one cop who had to waste his time. and AGAIN no damage was ever done by someone staying there. Since you guys continue to wrongfully accuse us and already "Won". All i can do is continue to pass this story on of how we were treated at Best Western. I would like to say the picture you sent us with the damage showed that the picture looked literally like it was punched! You would 100% think if someone punched something that night and again no one was drunk that someone out of the four of us would remember. It never happened!! But your cleaning crew or someone is having us pay for the destruction of someone else. I am utterly disappointed in best western and I will more that likely continue to investigate this issue. I have tried to call a few times but conveniently can never get a hold...
