First of all, we reserved the room with a hot tub, SPECIFICALLY so we could use it. I have a back injury, and was looking forward to being able to relax in the hot tub to soothe the pain, but the water would barely get hot enough to use it. The front desk person claimed it was due to the number of guests in the hotel using the hot water at once, but when the hotel was basically empty the next night (Sunday), the issue was still present.
Second issue, we booked the room at this particular location specifically because it has an indoor swimming pool. The water was literally ice cold, children's lips were turning blue within minutes. You would think the hotel would have some type of heating for the indoor pool, but it sure didn't feel like it. The pool room also had ceiling fans blasting you with cold air the entire time, just in case you weren't cold enough. I believe they do this in order to keep guests from using the facilities. The staff seemed to give cold mean looks to us for wanting to use the pool at all, like it was an inconvenience. Also, the water looked filthy and grey. It was extremely grimy, and had clumps of hair floating around in it.
A third reason we chose this hotel, was the breakfast. It was terrible. There was no hot chocolate for the kids which was extremely disappointing for them. No pastries for my wife, only dried out bread and bagels, and they were also out of yogurt which left her with not much options. The eggs and sausage were cold, the bacon overcooked in a microwave. The waffles were the only edible thing, however, the breakfast attendant would stand guard in front of it, glaring at guests, kind of putting people off of it. My wife didn't want to approach her, after seeing her attitude towards other guests. When she would get out of the way for people to make a waffle, there wasn't enough batter for the kids to even have one, and breakfast had only just began.
Another major inconvenience, is their side door has been broken for over a year and they blatantly refuse to fix it. It doesn't take more than 5 minutes to reprogram those locks, they just don't want make things accessible for their guests for some reason? We chose our room 101 for the ability to easily go in and out of the side door when packing and un packing, but we had to go back in through the front lobby door every time we wanted to leave.
All that being said, the room itself was very clean, and the housekeeping staff was extremely professional and quick to help when we ran low on anything. All of them were very polite and friendly. The back of house staff deserve a medal. The front of house staff leave a lot to be desired in the niceness and professionality categories.
I went to the front desk Sunday evening to ask about a possible late check out time, and inquiring about choice privileges membership in order to get a 2:00pm check out time because I thought I had seen that advertised as a perk for upgraded membership. The front desk agent told me the normal check out time, which is 12:00pm, IS CONSIDERED A LATE CHECK OUT ALREADY because the other hotels check out at 11:00am, and that I couldn't get a later one. She didn't make any attempt at upselling me the choice privileges membership upgrade at all, and frankly after dealing with her attitude, I don't even know if I want to be a choice privileges member any more. The woman we checked in with at the front desk was very nice, but every other person at the desk other than her weren't polite at all. You walk past them, and they don't greet you or anything, they just glare angrily at you, and that's if they are even at the desk. Most of the time they weren't even at the desk, so thankfully the housekeeping staff were on top of everything I ever needed.
Also, your front desk staff should be required to wear a uniform and name tag to identify them. When your front desk staff is sitting in a chair in the lobby next to the desk, they just look like a regular guest waiting for service. How are we supposed to even know they work there if they aren't behind the desk in uniform, or at the very least, wearing a name tag???
In summation, I definitely won't stay here next time I'm in town, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I figured since they are charging exorbitant rates for these rooms that I was paying for a certain caliber of quality and service, but I could've literally gotten the same thing down the road at almost half the price. This is the third time we've stayed at this hotel, and it just gets worse and worse. Its the third strike for us. We had invited our parents to come book a room Sunday night to enjoy part of the weekend with us, and it was just embarrassing having them deal with all this, as I apparently chose an inferior, more expensive option. This will be the last time my family will stay. Be sure to shop around before you book here, because considering the service, the price...
Read moreWe didn't arrive until around 5:30 PM. We got checked in and went up to our room with all of our stuff. My wife opened the door to a room that had not even been cleaned yet. So I went back down while my wife waited in the hall with our things. I was given a new room assignment and keys and we went from the 2nd floor to the third. This room had been cleaned, but as we would find out, not that well. It didn't look like the floor had been vacuumed that well, but we'd had a long day and while not up to par, it wasn't that terrible, and we didn't want to go through the hassle of going to a 3rd room. When I went to put our drinks and things in the fridge, there was a half full can of wet dog food left in there from the previous guest. I took it downstairs and said that we found our welcome gift in the fridge. That basically got a "ewww" from the girl at the front desk, to which I said that we're not off to a good start here, and turned around to head back to the elevator. No apology, not a word. There was also none of the usual customary items in the bathroom. No shampoo or conditioner in the shower... I had to go down and get it. Later, my wife realized there was also no little bottle of lotion usually found on counter by the sink, along with the soap. We went out to dinner and upon returning, I plopped down on the couch and out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move/bounce on the cushion to my left. Upon closer inspection, it was crumbs from the previous guest, or their dog. We were just going to be there for two nights, and at least the bed was clean, or appeared to be anyway, after we inspected it. We were exhausted, so we just blew it off. The next morning, we went down for breakfast and that was an extremely disappointing experience. There was hardly anything available other than the waffle maker. There was no eggs, bacon, or sausage. There was cereal but no milk. In the warming trays, there were biscuits, gravy, and seasoned potatoes. The biscuits were not only not hot, they weren't even warm or room temperature, they were cold! The potatoes were barely warm. Interestingly, we had just stayed here a couple of months prior, for 3 nights. We had none of the room issues mentioned here on that stay. However, the one similarity was on the first morning's breakfast... the same thing happened on that stay...not much food to choose from. On that stay, the sweet lady that works the breakfast said they had been wiped out by a couple of big bus tours that had stayed there over the previous couple of nights. The next 2 morning's it was replenished and quite good. On this stay however, I asked that same employee about the limited food and she replied that the manager would not order anything. I was dumbfounded by her response. What kind of manager is that? My perception of this hotel based on that comment is that it's being run by someone whose attitude is that the guests can eat what we have and if they don't like it, they don't have to eat, because I'm not restocking anything until we're just out of everything. In other words, it appears that whoever is running the hotel simply doesn't care... about anything it would seem! Therefore, we don't care to stay here...

The king room was spacious and clean. |The employees were not friendly for the most part. |When we arrived the check in , the employee at the front desk acted like she did not even want to be there. |They advertise a hot breakfast until 9 am, however, when we got there the next morning at 8:20 am, there were a few bites of the sausage pieces left and no eggs in the containers. They had a few bagels and pieces of white bread but no muffins, danishes or donuts. I stood there a few minutes and she never acknowledged me so I spoke up and asked about the breakfast. She told me that someone should be over in that area and so told her they are not there. She then told me they should “ be somewhere around” and went back to her phone.|I located an employee cleaning the floors and she advised she does the breakfast area but nothing else would be put out. A few minutes later she came to our table and said that meat and eggs would be out soon. She again did not acknowledge me so I asked another employee if we need to give the key to get checked out and she told me to leave it on the counter. |I will say that as we came down the elevator to check out there was a male employee pushing a rolling cart and he spoke to us and was very friendly. Maybe management should consider having him provide some training to most of the other employees on how to at least smile and acknowledge the customers. He was an...
