TRU by Hilton Beaufort, SC: A Solid Choice for a Convenient Stay I recently spent a nights at the TRU by Hilton in Beaufort, SC, and found it to be a perfectly adequate and convenient option for my trip. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. Location is a major plus. Situated just a few miles from downtown Beaufort, it offers easy access to the city's charming attractions. Plus, having a fuel station, convenience stores, and several restaurants literally steps away was incredibly handy. The lobby is a standout feature. It's a huge, vibrant space with a variety of seating options, perfect for relaxing or socializing. The pool table added a fun, casual touch. Amenities were as expected for a TRU property. The 24-hour coffee bar was a lifesaver, and the complimentary breakfast provided a good start to the day. The selection was decent, including coffee, tea, juices, yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, eggs and sausage, and cereals. The gym was also available, though I didn't have time to use it. The option to purchase beer, wine, snacks, and toiletries was convenient, and the water and ice machine was appreciated. My room was clean, open, and spacious. The large flat-screen TV with streaming options was a nice touch, and the small refrigerator was useful. The bathroom was generously sized with excellent water pressure. The movable desk and adequate lighting made it easy to get some work done. I also appreciated the plentiful charging stations, hooks, and storage space. While the towels were decent, they weren't overly luxurious. The hotel is also pet-friendly, which is a bonus for travelers with furry companions, and they provide a designated pet walking area. Overall, the TRU by Hilton in Beaufort, SC, offers a comfortable and convenient stay. It's an excellent option for travelers who prioritize location, functionality, and a friendly atmosphere. While it may not offer the frills of a luxury hotel, it delivers on its promise of a solid, modern experience.

First time staying at a Tru by Hilton hotel. Not bad overall. Stayed for 2 nights. Service was great overall. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was pretty decent. My favorite was the pancake machine. Fitness center was a nice addition, which included a Peloton bike. That was a nice touch. There's a place to get water and ice right outside the Fitness center but both looked a bit dirty so I opted not to drink from there or get any ice. There's a pool table in the lobby. I wish there was an indoor pool but alas, there was not. Rooms we're really clean. Loved the blackout shades. The walls are razor thin so you can hear almost everything. I heard a couple arguing so that made for an awkward experience but that's not the hotel's fault. I stayed on the 3rd floor so I could hear kids running on the 4th floor, which woke me up a few times. This is also a dog friendly hotel so that's also a bonus for dog owners. Surprisingly, the dogs at the hotel were pretty quiet during my stay. There's also diamond member reserved parking, (which I am a diamond member). So that comes in handy. Overall experience was great. I'll probably stick to some of Hiltons top tier hotels for future stays. This hotel was definitely budget friendly.

We stayed at Tru by Hilton is Beaufort, SC from Thursday 10/19-10/22/23. As for the room itself, it was smaller than I expected. It had no microwave, and no dressers/drawers for clothes. But it was clean and the front desk responded quickly to our request for more towels. The reason for the 1 star for service happened when we checked out. Across from every elevator, on every floor, was a whiteboard with things written on them. On every whiteboard on every floor was a note that said "find a shark tooth and present it at the front desk for a special treat" My ten year old grandson searched Sands Beach for 2 hours looking for shark teeth. He was so proud when he found 2. At 9:30 am on 10/22/23, we checked out. My son took his nephew to the front desk to present his teeth for his special treat. He was told by the staff manning the desk that she had no idea what he was talking about. My son came back to report what she said. My daughter, the 10 year olds mother, took a picture of the whiteboard and the offer. She took it to the desk thinking when she showed staff, Spencer would get his treat. Nope. She looked at my daughter and said "I don't know anything about that". Next, I went to the desk and I told the girl "you should probably erase the whiteboards before you have more kids coming up with teeth." She said " I don't know anything about that" I said "yes, I know, but if you're not going to honor it, you should erase it" She said "I didn't write it" I answered, "I know that, but again, if you are not going to honor it, you should erase it" She looked at me and said "Have a nice day ma'am" and promptly turned around and ignored me completely. I wish I had gotten her name, but she was working the front desk at 9:30 am on Sunday, October 22. The next day, I called to speak to a manager and was told there was none on the property at that time. I left a message to be called back. I did this on 10/22, 10/23 and I left 2 voicemails. None were ever returned. I will never stay at this hotel again. Nancy Lofgren (reservations made by Jason Smith, silver...

This particular hotel has left me feeling so discouraged about all Hilton Hotels at this point. The front desk clerk was as rude as I’ve ever met in the customer service industry. It was so obvious I was bothering her that I had to ask her at one point if I had done something to offend her, fully aware that I hadn’t even opened my mouth yet to say a word. I was ignored, not acknowledging me when I asked questions. It was as if I was a phantom standing there, other than rolling her eyes when I walked through the door. I was repeating questions to her because she wouldn’t get off her computer long enough to help me so she was not hearing me the first time. And when I asked her to give me my credit card back, she pulled her hand back and told me not to snatch it from her. After driving nearly 12 hours and arriving in Beaufort at this hotel at 12:30 in the morning, and exhausted, and that’s what I was greeted with. Had this have happened with someone without restraint, it could’ve ended horribly. Not a smart move on her part at 12:30am. She was about to go to jail for credit card theft. I prepaid for for the room yet she tried to me control me with my credit card and impress power over me by not giving it back to me unless it was under her terms. I didn’t come AND PAY to be bullied by someone that has no idea how to treat people. But as long as she got her point across to me by showing me that I am beneath her standards, that I was a bad person solely because of the color of my skin was absolute prejudice and honestly, her behavior was disgusting. It was completely surprising considering this is within the hospitality industry and at Hilton no less. Hilton hotels, you just lost a customer for life, I’ve been using you for 35+ years personally and professionally for business functions and ballroom dance competitions generating a lot of revenue for Hilton hotels. Your own employee just took thousands of dollars from your pocketbook by means of practicing discrimination towards a long...
