I recently visited Sub Station II and had an incredibly disappointing customer service experience, largely due to the manager, Juliana. Her poor attitude and lack of professionalism left a sour taste in my mouth, overshadowing what could have otherwise been a decent dining experience.
I am in town for a large function and this establishment is the only food place right next to our hotel. I arrived at 8:45pm, 15 minutes before closing. The young lady at the counter welcomed my party and asked for our order. My niece wanted a Philly Cheesesteak and as the young lady was preparing to make it, Julianna (night manager) comes from the back and rudely interjects "you can't order that because we just closed the grill" No where in this establishment or on their website does it specify a certain close time for the grill. And the employee that was preparing to make the sandwich looked just as stunned as us that we could not order from the full menu. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that Juliana was disinterested in providing quality service. Her dismissive behavior was not only off-putting but also reflected a lack of commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.
What bothered me even more was Juliana's attitude. There was no excuse me, I apologize but the grill is closed for the night but can I suggest another sandwich, the interjection was abrasive and rude. Furthermore, the policy is to close the grill before closing all employees should be aware of this. Juliana's unhelpful and dismissive attitude towards customers not only tarnished the reputation of the restaurant but also reflected poorly on the entire team. It is disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism from someone in that is supposed to be in a "managerial" position.
I hope that Sub Station II takes immediate action to address this issue and instill a customer-centered approach within their staff. I would not recommend this establishment, which is a shame because it looks like a fairly new establishment and is the sole eatery within walking distance of three hotels. The amount of business that could be generated from the patrons of the hotel would be great for business but not with a manger like Juliana running the customers away because she does not want...
Read moreI have heard from so many people who swear that Sub Station II is such a great place for a sandwich. To be fair, it is better than Subway, but that isn't really setting the bar very high. I have eaten at the Beaufort location at least a dozen times, and I think I am finally done with this place.
On each occasion that I've been to this establishment, I have been met with a rude old lady at the cash register who acts as if it is such a chore to take sandwich orders. I always have to repeat myself to her to get my order placed, and she forgets to hand me a cup for my drink at least half of the time.
The sandwiches are then made behind a counter where I am unable to see what is going on. This would be OK if I had any confidence that the prep stations and utensils were clean, but I have had those ideas dashed when I find traces of mayonnaise, which I do not eat and did not order, laced through the sandwich.
The meat portions are a joke. They lay the slices so that they overlap the outside of the bread in a lame effort to make it appear that you're getting something substantial, but one bite into your food will reveal that you might have one or two layers of thinly sliced meat at best. For the price you guys ask for a cold cut sandwich, you could do better than this.
The final straw happened today when I receive my sandwich to discover that the lady behind the counter decided that I wanted a slice of pickle draped over the top of the bread. Pickles have to be the single worst food invention. It's not bad enough that they taste horrible, but they leak disgusting juice everywhere thus ruining all other food on the plate. Had I been asked if I wanted one of these things, I would have politely declined. But no. This choice was made for me and not in a desirable way. If you're going to insist on giving away pickles, do everyone a damn favor and don't let them touch the rest...
Read moreCame here on 8/21/2023. Stopped in to grab lunch. The lady who was cutting and making sandwiches explained to me she was new to the establishment and if I could bare with her. No problems because her manners was beyond superb and although she looked lost, she gracefully maneuvered with a smile and continued to prepare my sub. This experience by far was the only pleasant one. By the time I made it to the register, I proceeded to check out and gather my remaining items. When noticed I was wrongfully charged, I went back only to get into a verbal dispute with the cashier who made the mistake. When her manager came to fix the situation, they whispered and then asked for me to repay to correct their problem. When I disagreed “not because I didn’t have money” but because it wasn’t my fault from the beginning. As a customer I felt that an apology should’ve been made and a thank you or some other accommodations should’ve been offered. Instead it got worse and we argued. I got tired of arguing with poor customer service!!!!! I’ve been going here for years and by far the service here is getting worst. Close the place down until you figure out what type of customer service you are willing to give!!!! I wish I had the girls name who escalated the dispute. Pay attention to what you are being...
