Where do I start? My wife and I have stayed in this hotel probably 60 or more times. This is where we stay when we are in town visiting family in Dunn, North Carolina.
Monica has created a phenomenal atmosphere for guests. She has done that by having wonderful team members in every area of the hotel.
Our room is always perfect and the breakfast is wonderful also. They provide more food at breakfast than anyone can eat and no matter what you can or can not eat you will find enough to satisfy your hunger.
Over the last month we have stayed there at least four times for Thanksgiving, Christmas and a few other visits. I would like to recognize a few people that have made our stays special.
First is Monica the General Manager her leadership and attention to detail is second to none.
Janeece has a calming smile that welcomes you in and makes you feel like you are at home.
Terra is the Kitchen Manager for the Hampton Inn and their new sister hotel across the street at the Holiday Inn Express. It was no surprise when we heard she was asked to manage both properties. We have witnessed Terra walk around to each table and check on the guests and make sure everyone is enjoying their meal.
Anita is the Housekeeping Manager and she has wonderful team of ladies that go above and beyond what you see in other places. Anita has stopped us and other guest and checked on our room / their room just to make sure we and the other guests are happy.
Patrina is also in the kitchen and she so accommodating with the guest. She like Terra talks to the guests and checks on them through out breakfast.
Ellis is a Houseman and he is so impressive. I have watched him clean the lobby floors with great detail and everything he does he does it with all is heart. His attention to detail and his concern for guests walking on his wet floors is something to see. We have seen him stop working and help guest across the wet floor and he always has the wet floor signs posted. but he still goes the extra mile to help.
Jessica is also at the front desk and we did not know her very well until the last few visits. She is there in the evening and it is great to return from a day with family and be welcomed by Jessica.
Crystal is the over night person and we just met her on our last stay. We had so much talking to her and getting to know her as we returned from our day.
We do not know all the housekeeping ladies but they all have been great and very friendly.
I say all that to say if you are in the Dunn or Benson, North Carolina area and need a place to stay visit the Hampton Inn Benson. You will not ne sorry.
We hope this review helps you decide to visit the Hampton Inn...
Read morePros: Dog friendly!! Only $35 fee per room. Dog park right next door!! Dog treats, poop bags, paw wipes, and balls (whick they request you to return) are all provided by the hotel!! There's even a photo board showing pictures of the dogs that have stayed. Comfortable clean rooms. Television had a good selection of channels. The shower head was really really high up on the wall and would probably accommodate a person over 7' tall! On a side note, there was only 2 bath towels in the room and I assumed they would be replaced while we were out. When they weren't I wasn't happy... but then my husband noticed that there was a sign in thee bathroom that stated that house keeping was by request only (oops, we hadn't requested it)... on the other hand, I don't generally wear my glasses when I do stuff in the bathroom, so I wouldn't have been able to read it if I had noticed it. SO one thing I would suggest is that the front desk mention that when you check in. There is complimentary coffee 24 hours a day. In the lobby there is a complimentary cheese, meat & cracker tray & beverage (which seems to change day by day, one day it was tea and the next was lemonaid).... these are out from after 10am to atleast 11pm (it's not there during breakfast, but breakfast is). Complimentary breakfast! Better than most! Included coffee (dark roast, light roast & decalf, plus hot water for tea) with over 5 different creamers! 5 different juices, & 2 different milks... cut fruit along with oranges, apples & bananas... yogurt (greek, which I don't care for but oh well)... 3 dry cereals and oatmeal... u-make waffles with 2 different batters and 5 different toppings!... scrambled eggs, potatoes & meat (both changed each morning).. bagles and other breads... basically a good breakfast for l diets (there was also a sign for diet restrictions, though I didn't read it). Nice smoking section under cover with 2 padded outdoor chairs, located just outside the front doors but far enough away that the smoke doesn't get into the lobby) Friendly staff.
The only con I can think of was the house keeping issue I mentioned at #2 above... it would have been nice to have a couple more towels to begin with. Oh! And the pool was closed during...
Read moreOh Hampton! This is one of the better Hampton inns that I have found along I 95 Corridor! To begin with the place is absolutely spotless. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and had some fresh squeezed juices that we had never tried before. They rotate the flavors of the waffle mix and that’s always fun as well. Lots of fresh fruit and drinks are out all day. In the afternoon they had cookies, cheese and crackers, more fruit and some sort of fruit drink. The pool area was pretty amazing even though it was right on I 95. My daughter and I both took advantage of the pool and had the whole thing to ourselves. All of the furniture around the pool looked new and was in great condition. The towels that they had displayed were colorful in the whole area it was very inviting. They also have a section that you can go and sit outside anytime of the year as they had fans as well as portable heaters. The young lady that took care of the breakfast in the morning was amazing. She always started her day with a smile it was one of the first ones to say goodbye to us for me left asking us to be sure to come back and see her again. This is really what the Hampton brand should be. This is definitely a feather in Hilton‘s cap to have a hotel like this. You couldn’t beat the price, the staff, or the hotel and it’s entirety. They even recommend a great places to eat in town! Although this is an area that we had planned on stopping or have ever stop before, we definitely plan on stopping at this Hampton Inn again. Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you get a chance to stop and agree with my...
