Eagle's Landing Motel — Hotel in Bethany

A perfectly acceptable motel. My vehicle was seriously damaged and I was left on the side of the highway a couple years back. The proprietors here were accomodating, had fair pricing, and helped to find the folks in town who could get me back on the road to Chicago.

I only rate 4 stars because there were quite a few questionable stains on the floor that admittedly would've improved the experience had they not been there. But for someone who usually stays on the corporate dime at Big City hotels with all the bells and whistles, this was really the only valid grief I care to mention. And even then, it's just the floor. The beds were perfectly fine and clean.

We have traveled extensively and stayed at many older motels so I don't know how the other travelers could have given this place a good rating. Stayed here because there were no alternatives. The motel smells like an old ashtray even though we were in the non-smoking "area" in room #3. Yes it is old, but the linens should have been replaced 10 years ago, towels worn out, tv still the old tube kind, shower nozzle shoots water out like a garden hose, had to hunt for outlets to charge electronics, no coffee, only 2 plastic cups, one tiny bar of soap. Don't let the outside of this place fool you bc the rooms are nice or at least the one I got was nice and spacious and for the price I think I paid $49 for one night one person. I love how people ridicule the smallest things when they stay some of the reviews I read I almost didn't but glad I did I have stayed in some top end rooms that have been worse so I guess it's the eye of the beholder.
