Billings: Surprising Hotels Beyond the Ordinary

We really should have read the reviews. First of all, it was a very busy weekend for this hotel. Multiple events in town. We chose to stay because it was sponsored/recommended by the soccer tournament we came for. They were very busy and WAY under staffed. Only one person at the front desk, breakfast was ridiculously poor and they could not keep up with food, or plates or seating. There was only 1-2 people working. The pool—and especially the hot tub—was disgusting. Brownish water. We found a stash of used washcloths that had been left in the shower. The water temperature was lukewarm warm—no hot showers. And—to top it all off…… BED BUGS. We didn’t see them until the last day. Looking through the reviews, it’s clear this has been a long-time problem that they can’t seem to get taken care of. Lovely. When we told the front desk they blew it off as a “normal” thing that happens to all hotels. The beds in general are worn out. They slope in the middle, and they are disgustingly stained. We won’t be staying again and will pass along the information to the clubs who recommended this dump. This was probably the worst decision I’ve made to try this hotel out. If I could put zero stars I would.

Comfortable, clean, cozy - but by no means a small cozy! BHCC is specious but feels like a luxurious version of home! My partner and I stayed here while on business and we loved it! Immediately greeted in the lobby by plush, leather furniture. The hotel managed to maintain its vintage charm while updating contemporary comforts, like WiFi and easily accessible outlets. Our king sized bed was glorious and comfortable. We had a desk, big plush lounging chair, locally sourced luxury soaps and lotions in the bathroom. I really wish we had time to stay more than one night! The staff were also friendly and accommodating, as we didn’t get in until late due to work. I also liked the little additions like the signs very politely reminding hotel occupants of the quiet hours. Plus, the overall look of the building was beautiful. This would likely be a grand location to host a wedding or other luxurious event. Also, just next door to the hotel is an adorable convenience store and “trading post” where we picked up a few souvenirs and post cards, and local ice cream! Thank you for a lovely stay, BHCC!

I checked in and thought it was so beautiful inside my mistake for judging a book by its cover. I was placed in rm 1124 with my family. The first thing I noticed was the hotel room looked very dated and the deadbolt did not lock when the door was shut. There was a chain so I assumed they were aware of this and I was to tired to move to another room. We took the kids to the pool and had to call 📞 security twice because the lady who worked at the pool was literally being over run by a group of kids who pushed by her as she tried to close the slides because they were pushing the other kids. Security showed up and said they were kicking that group out and left the poor woman to deal with the kids( a group of about 20 and their parents were standing to the side drinking and not offering to help the woman) security never came back to help her so my husband stepped in to help the lady when one particular boy tried to push past her. Okay so that is mainly parents so I understood that and we went back to the room. I got in the shower turned around to wash my hair and the shower head nozzle flew off and hit me in the head. ..so my husband tried to put it back on and saw that it was cracked. Seeing how the night was going I decided to go to bed. I set down on the bed closest to the window and the mattress sunk all the way down...this all coming from a hotel charging 160 to 213.00 a night. I went to file a injury report that night but the clerk said she had never had this happen and did not know how to file one so for me to come back in the morning so i went to the manager the next morning (Elise Sitton) and explained what all had happened and she ask me what I hoped to gain if they gave me a refund. I explained it wasn't about money and she refused to call 📞 the owner since she said this was over her head. I found out the owner was supposed to be in that evening for a dog show and some dinner, needless to say I have not heard from him and the manager refused to give me a copy of the injury report she said was filed. This hotel is not worth the money..it is like a pretty bandaid till you see the real internal part.* UPDATE ON REVIEW....I have called several times and left a message for Jase to call I was told he was there y the front desk clerk so I left messages on his answering service as well as the guy from the front desk saying he would give him the message personally. I still never got acall 📞. I read the owners comment on my review and called and spoke with Elise and that was the first heard about a refund...my bank does not show it so I will check in a few days but as I said it wasn't about money but the fact I got injured on the property and Elise ask what I hoped to gain so no I don't need to talk to her...

Me and my 3 girls stayed last weekend at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center. We checked in on Friday August 5th and checked out Saturday August 6th. One thing that I noticed in the room is that there is no ventilation in the bathroom and mold spores are begging to form on the ceiling.

However, that pales in comparison to what we encountered on the morning of August 6th. It is important to note that we are Blackfeet Indian. Our skin is brown and our hair is black. That being said, we woke up early that morning around 7am and my girls were excited to go to the pool and swim. I walked down with my girls and grabbed coffee and hung out with them for a while. After about 30 minutes I told my daughters that I was going to walk down to our room and get ready for the day.

They are plenty old enough to swim by themselves at ages 17, 15, and 9 years old.

I was only at our room for about 20 minutes when I heard a knock at the door. It was my middle child who said that some man was questioning them. He wanted to know their room number and was asking them several questions, mainly to determine if they were paid guests. They said he was also walking around the pool area staring at them. Aside from questioning them, this tactic was used to intimate teenage girls. My oldest daughter told the man that we were guests and that her sister was going to walk down to our room and get me and he could deal with me.

After I heard this, I marched down to the pool area and my oldest daughter (noticeably shaken up) reiterated the story to me and said that the man had left after they told him they were coming to get me. I was furious to say the least. I went down to the front desk and asked them if they had people at the pool area questioning guests. The lady that was working on Saturday morning August 6th nonchalantly said that they did have people checking the pool area and that they had issues with “random people” coming in and swimming. My exact words to the lady was that we are not random people and “we paid like everyone else.” I told her I was really upset with a few more select words, but she didn’t seem to care at all about the interaction that happened between a grown man and my children.

I am still very upset about this situation. I will NEVER stay at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center again. Funny thing is it is 2022 and racism is still rampant. I don’t ever pull the race card, but in this situation there is just no excuse. When it comes to my children, I will protect them at all costs. Your organization should be ashamed of itself! Not only did we encounter such horrible treatment, but we paid $243 for one night...

Well... It's not a good review... we walked in our animals... literally walked in the front door with them. The staff talked to our animals. Check out time was noon, and we even called the front desk to verify the following morning. By 10:30, the staff was knocking on our door and calling us to get us to check out. I then received a call from a lady informing me we were not allowed animals in the room we were in, and they'd be charging us a $200.00 cleaning fee. She told me we were in a room that didn't allow animals.... with that being said, we didn't have any control over what room they put us in. I immediately went to the desk and told them they knew we had animals. She said they did not. The guy that checked us in was setting there and lied! He said he didn't know. But he talked to our Yorkie which was walking on a leash! I informed the lady that the $200.00 was not authorized. She said she'd already charged it to my card and refused to reverse the charge. Our room key was turned off, and we were escorted to our room to remove our belongings. We have never been treated so poorly.

I absolutely wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. They are liars and thieves.

I am a truck driver with my husband, and we'd been without heat for 3 days. The last thing we needed was some rude woman treating us like we're trying to pull something shady. We were up front and above board with our animals.

I reported our treatment to the company that recommended this establishment, and they said they had never heard of such treatment and would no longer recommend anyone to stay there.

10/30 - Here's an update.... We spoke with the general manager yesterday, and after he reviewed the cameras, he agreed to refund the $200.00 in damage charges. He apologized for the treatment we received. He said he is reviewing policies with the staff. But, he would not adjust the price of the room. On the phone, I was quoted $149.00, and they overcharged us.

Before you sign ANYTHING at check-in, read everything. He told us that since we signed the paper at check-in, we agreed to the price they charged us. If you have an animal, they have a paper you have to sign too.

We checked in at the Montana Trailhead Inn, and it is much nicer and much more affordable! We have a 2 room suite and the staff is awesome.

Responding to staff....you may not agree with my review but, nevertheless, my money was refunded because the actions your company took was wrong. Have a...
