Dirty place! Food safety hazard!!!!
THIS REVIEW IS LONG. IM TRYING TO HELP YOU OVERCOME THESE INSANE 5 STAR REVIEWS AND THINK ABOUT YOUR HEALTH
First - the not so shocking part:
On a basic service level, food was very poorly managed in the buffet setting. Sauces everywhere on the edges, foods mixed together, meat was freezer burned so it was dry after being cooked. Never been to a hu hot with dry meat. Servers did not adequately replenish the sauces or foods. Lots of empty containers. I came at 530 on a Friday so it's not like I showed up at 8 and everything was in a mess from a long dinner rush. One server commented (while replacing a sauce) 'that doesn't look right. This is supposed to be soy sauce. I don't know what that is' (as she's putting the sauce into the buffet table) 😧
Now the awful part:
I'm from out of town - I've been to many hu hots. All were clean, well kept - all despite the cooking with oils etc.
I'm trying not to get sick thinking about this. There were 3 cooks in the center working the grill. When you looked at the floor- their shoes pants and the surrounding area - it was thick with grease. Incredibly thick. So thick the cooks were sliding across the floor (like socks on a slippery hardwood floor) toward the customers to gather their bowls.
I didn't know just how unclean it was until one cook had to go to the back. He walked outside the cooks' circle around the grill and walked through the restaurant towards the bar. I looked down and his shoes were so caked with thick grease that chunks were falling off onto the floor. Large grease chunk tracks were left in his wake (looked like your shoes when you go through mud and large chunks attach themselves to your shoes, making them heavy)
It literally looked like they had never cleaned the cooking floor. I hadn't eaten all day. I walked 10 minutes to get there from my hotel. I should have walked next door to Texas Roadhouse. But I powered through and ate my meal. I still feel sick about it.
This is a major food safety issue. If you can't trust people to clean the facility - what food are you getting? Thank the lord I don't have food poisoning.
DONT GO. FOR THE LOVE OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
This has scarred me - I will never attend a...
Read moreI love Huhot it is my favorite restaurant to go to when going out to eat in missoula... We were in Billings and decided to eat at their Huhot it was appauling honestly I don't say this lightly I'm satisfied pretty easily... the staff was not all that friendly and lively, they just kind of walked around aimlessly. There was food all over the floors so it wasnt very clean. The biggest part that really upset me was our waitress she just walked around or hid in the back the people behind us had been talking and i heard them saying how long they had been waiting for their check and then they ended up having to get up and ask one of the greeters across the restaurant to find the waitress. They still waited for her and when they were ready to pay they had to wait yet again. They got up to hand her the check because she was walking around and she told them to sit back down and she would be with them in a minute. She had 5 tables including us. When I got a refill I had finished my food so it was about 10 minutes later when I got it back my husband had asked for a refill on his a little later and once again he finished his last plate before we got it and we asked for the check once again we waited for about 10 minutes got it back put our card in there and my husband held it out to grab she walked around went into the back walked back out checked on a table stood at the front walked around some more finalpy lifted it higher abd she slowly made her way and was like u rrady to pay. I said yes. Needless to say we left her no tip. Marked 0 with a big line. I do not ever do that no matter what I tip but it was awful there I don't recommend it. Like I said I love Huhot but...
Read moreMy friend took me out for lunch at around 12pm. When we arrived the cashier had us wait while they grabbed manager. When the manager came he asked my friend for his I.D. Confused he said no and was told they wouldn't be able to give a veterans discount. My friend replied that he wasn't a veteran but he would take the 10% discount if they wanted to give it.
So we grabbed our bowls and headed to fill them. Mind you he has been going to this location for around 10 years. While putting sauce in our bowls at the end a man in a blue shirt came up to him asking if he was a veteran which he replied no to. The person's attitude changed very quickly and he became quite rude saying my friend had grabbed toouch food which he offered to pay for another bowel if it was an issue. He was told no and that they would just throw away what didn't fit into the to-go bowl.
Mind everyone he had his to-go bowl and two small ones filled with vegetables.
He explained the vegetables would cook down and there would be enough room that it would all fit. Was told by blue shirt you could only take what you get in the bowl they give you and nothing else. He let the guy know he has been coming to that location for around 10 years and has never had an issue to which he replied they haven't been open that long and had been closed down for a while. After being declined being able to pay for another to go container they hardly cooked our food (which all fit) and then sent us on our way.
Fast forward 6 hours or so and we are both on toilets puking into...
