We came to traverse city to celebrate our anniversary, Black Star Farms winery and Staff beginning with David was outstanding love the vibe felt like family. We had a minor issue with the room when we first checked in and Brian and David were so resourceful and came up with a great alternative for us to show how much they care about their guest. They did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and pleasant and fun it felt like family, Michelle our chef we just throw things together for breakfast and they were all absolutely delicious. Very creative. I look forward to my breakfasts! We had a a sedan car that wasn’t great in the snow. I didn’t think there was gonna be any snow by looking at the weather, but as it turns out, it kept snowing every day there so it was becoming a problem we even got snowed in one day and David came up with the idea since we couldn’t go out to eat he said how about if I just Figure something out for dinner so I’ll send another couple took him up on his offer it just felt like this whole staff would do anything they could to make the stay amazing and it was even the snowplow guy waited down in the lobby for me to check out and helped us get out of this big icy hill. I followed him up the hill. He was putting down gravel dirt for me to have traction they just seem to really care about their guests. What a blastI would give it a 10+ rating! Will...
Read moreWhen your paying 30-50% more than other B&B's you're expecting a better experience. Here, I feel like you're paying extra for the location and the grounds, which are nice. You may be able to enjoy the building and your room if you don't have groups being loud on the patio right outside your door or a loud group in the lounge area all night celebrating a 60th birthday without caring about other guests staying there.
The room and bathroom were good but were they nicer than other places we've stayed at for less? No. The service at the inn was at a good chain hotel level. They were nice but seemed to just be going through the motions and didn't really feel engaged at all. Like asking questions because it was expected of them but not really because they're interested. Generally, I don't care about this at all, jobs are jobs, we don't all have to like them or be excited about what we're doing, but for the cost of this place it stood out to me.
The breakfasts were fine, nothing special. It was an appropriate amount of food that tasted fine. It didn't need to be super fancy or extraordinary but for the price I definitely didn't leave with a "wow what a great breakfast. I couldn't have gotten something this good at other B&B's" feeling. Pretty sure I could have gotten equal, or better, breakfasts at many restaurants...
Read moreWe can’t say enough amazing things about BSF Inn. Besides the great quality of the rooms/suites, the staff at the Inn made our experience like none other! David made us feel right at home, Chef Michelle at the Inn made spectacularly yummy breakfast meals as well as delightful hospitality treats, and Megan was so wonderful keeping our suite clean and restocked! Everyone was so sweet and hospitable. We were welcomed with a delicious bottle of wine with our names on it and chocolate truffles on the bed along with a customized welcome letter in the suite. We also enjoyed a delicious Polish dinner created by Estate Chef John. We stayed in the Mira, which is the only suite with a full kitchen and one of the few suites with a private entrance. There is even a gorgeous piano in the atrium which I was able to play anytime I wanted! It was an absolutely wonderful wintery mini-moon for us thanks to BSF! We also tasted DELICIOUS wines from the BSF Winery in the tasting room! We will be returning in the summer or fall. Thank you for making our mini...
