Some of the best cheese I’ve ever had. However Ann is one of the owners and man is she sassy. I ordered 2 cheese mini wheels on Facebook, never got a response, I called and she said oh we mailed it yesterday, I said awesome! Wow these guys are on top of it. I then only received 1 cheese. I then called and asked about it and they said they were sold out. I said ok, what can you do to fix the error you made, then they refused to fix it and one of the employees hung up on me. I called back and spoke to Ann the owner and she complained about how they are too small to do anything, and wouldn’t admit they made an error. It was pretty dramatic.

If you’ve ever seen the episode of Seinfeld with the Soup Nazi then consider this the Cheese Nazi. No cheese for...

Great little cheese shop. Not a large variety. They specialize in Raclette which is a type of Swiss Cheese. They have a mild and an aged variety, and then they have some various flavored varieties of the mild. You can watch them process cheese through a window. The store attendant was very friendly and helpful. They also had a large variety of crackers and spreads as well as other snacks and condiments that go well with cheese. The shop also sells a variety of cheese toasters as this is a typical way to serve this variety of cheese.

They also have homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors and served in small pint containers.

The grounds around the shop are beautiful as well. Be aware they do not have a...

I wanted to support a local small business. I ordered the "aged" raclette, thinking it was actual raclette cheese. But it's not. It's hard and dry and separates immediately when you melt it and is terrible for raclette. Since I had ordered a lot of it in preparation for multiple raclette nights with guests, I called to find out why it didn't melt properly. The guy informed me that aged variety is not intended for melting for a raclette meal, it's for snacking - like on crackers. Which is not mentioned ANYWHERE on their site. He said he would send me a little bit of the other stuff as a consolation prize but he never did. Now I have six pounds of dry, hard...

John And Anne create some amazing cheese. Hard work, skill, and love are the secret ingredients that make their cheese so good. I documented a day in their life years ago, and the day starts very early and the hard work never seems to end. They were pleasantly lost in their work. I was impressed by their focus and almost cheerful approach to the work at hand. I never knew cheese could taste so good. I'm not sure the would consider themselves as artists, but trust me, they are. So if you find yourself in the Leelanau area, you must try their cheese. Cheers

Leelanau Cheese is a cool creamery to stop at if you enjoy cheese. They seem to specialize in raclette cheese and fresh cheese, and both are excellent. I was able to sample a bit in the store, and the stuff I bought was delicious. The black truffle raclette is full of truffle flavor, and the fresh cheese is wonderful with crackers. The staff was very welcoming and was in the process of shooting a Youtube video while I was there. The place is well worth a stop if you like cheese at all.
